The back looks nice.... I am sure it will grow on me. What is with the semi-circle panel on the front? Looks like they made a kit out of left over panels. Plus, if you turn it on the side, it looks like a parrot fish.....

What a stupid thing to say, of course I know the club is owned by King Power.

 

What I'm saying is:

a) I believe the previous deal agreed with the club expired in June

b) There were rumours the club were looking at alternatives to boost revenue streams

or c) King Power could contribute more money given the previous shirt sponsorship deal was reportedly worth very little in comparison to our current stature as a club

So glad I bought this seasons home before it sold out. Hopefully a decent away/third kit in monochrome. Something daring needed than the usual bland stuff.

Think I said this last season; it really doesn't matter what it looks like, people will still flock online and shell out the ridiculous full price for it because it's our kit. People are desperate to clad themselves in club clobber, it'll still do the numbers and when Adidas call the shots, we don't get much choice.

If the actual version has the pattern on it that the rest of the condivo templates do it'll be really damn nice actually. Its a grower.

Does anyone know if our contract is with Adidas or someone similar to genesis like the Puma kits? Would explain why we don't have anything bespoke. 

 

Edit: we always end up with one teamwear kit... usually available on Adidas website like the pink this Season..

It with Adidas but only a handful of the big clubs get fully bespoke kits. I think they called the Elite Clubs.

 

We get a semi-bespoke home kit, in the sense we can alter things like patterns and mix and match certain aspects. However the away kits are always just templates.

Don’t think it’s quite like puma but Adidas only really do bespoke for Elite clubs like Chelsea, Man Utd, Real Madrid, Juventus, Arsenal.

Eg big clubs that are in champions league on a regular basis/clubs with massive marketing potential.

 

We’re neither at the moment but if we can keep knocking on the European door it can only improve our stature. That along with a nice new training ground and the massive expansion that will go ahead one decade (please just announce plans this year!),

Slightly off topic but I've got a heat press at home for printing football shirts and did this for the 2016-17 shirt earlier, think it looks alright

Yeah, last season's grey and orange / this season's pink kit were too bland for me

Ricey if we’ve altered the kit  to look like this it’s even worse  😂

the sleeve cuffs could have been so much better.  There is a close up pic on footy headlines which shows the detail much better

The club will decide the colours and looking at some of the colour combos we and, more recently OHL, have had I'm not sure whoever is deciding these things really has an eye for it.

 

Guarantee that kit will look better in reality though. They always look quite bland when these catalogue images are leaked.

This is a good point. On one of the footy headlines close up there's some semblance of a pattern/texture at least, it appears just completely flat on the original leak.

Yeah after seeing the better pics its grown on me abit. Something still doesn't look quite right I think the gold colour for the adidas logo and stripes like we had this year may have looked better, but I guess they wanted to make enough changes so people didn't complain it was too similar

Agreed they definitely don’t! How about  miadidas? The club could use this to make a more bespoke kit .

I like it, mainly because it's blue and has our badge on.

 

Never have understood the gold criticism. It goes nicely with blue and white, we've worn it in many of our greatest moments (1994-96, 2015-17) and therefore it is worthy of our second best side since the 1960s as we go into our second European adventure in the last 20 years. And more than that, it seems to keep the owners happy having gold on the shirt. Enough for me.

Surely the only way to lessen the shitness of that kit is to put the three stripes and logo in gold or switch the sleeve colouring so the block colour is white, then blue then gold?

Eesh, actual visceral reaction to this. Nothing will ever be worse than the Jako/Topps Tiles monstrosity from 2007 but for me, this is close.

It's ok. Don't like the separation panelling but we've hard far worse.
