Its time for some of those players to show they are sorry for downing tools at half time today. Need those picked to bust a gut and show some passion. If we lose but play out our skins I'd almost accept that now. Another gutless performance would be hard to take. Mate, we have asked them to “stand up and be counted” about 15 times this season - they’ve failed each and every time. No chance in hell we see any fight against Sheff U. They’ll have a good 20 mins when Sheff U are taking a breather but that’s it. 2 1
Mad Dog Posted 13 July 2020 Posted 13 July 2020 I was so depressed today. So done with football. But a few hours later and I start to wonder... what if the CAS rule that Man City are banned next season? So fifth is enough? Will the players buck their ideas up, realize this is their last chance? Beat the Blades and we’ll probably finish fifth and qualify. But then reality comes crashing home. 1-2 loss.
fuchsntf Posted 13 July 2020 Posted 13 July 2020 Other Teams around us...will be biting at the bit,to get that CAS position.... Circling like Hyenas, knowing we are wounded & out..!! 1

One truly abysmal 45 minutes can not overshadow a pretty impressive season (especially since the restart) so the idea of dropping Kasper is crazy. And we need someone in the hole behind our stickers and it isn't just tielmans. We need Perez or Maddison there too. Perez is a waste of a shirt, Maddison is weeks away from a big transfer, I doubt we will see him again in my opinion 1 1

RowlattsFox Posted 13 July 2020 Posted 13 July 2020 If there was an opposition that Morgan could be ok with its probably Sheffield United. He might help with the physical stuff. Will have to be centre of a back 3, Evans might be more comfortable on the left hand side too. Albrighton and Fuchs wing backs. Praet, Tielemans and Ndidi. Iheanacho and Vardy. Probably too defensive but we need to be solid after that second half yesterday. We concede early on and we will fall off a cliff. Ok then Brendan, let's see how you can galavinise this lot. We'll see how much the players believe in your management right now. Some have history for downing tools, don't care whether we finish 3rs or 8th now, just want to see a plan, some leadership on and off the pitch and a bit of fight (not the Soyuncu type)
Stuntman_Mike Posted 13 July 2020 Posted 13 July 2020 (edited) 0-3 Sheffield United They'll out fight us and they are a genuinely dangerous side. We won't cope with their physicality and quality of crosses and link up play on the wings. We'll give away another penalty of some sort and there will be a new scapegoat in the side. Edited 13 July 2020 by Stuntman_Mike
Beechey Posted 13 July 2020 Posted 13 July 2020 (edited) Don't think I'd have a back 3, considering how few CB's we have now. We have better midfielders and I think we should use them to control the game rather than pack our back line. Frankly, a point in the next 3 games might be enough to clinch top 6, considering Wolves and Sheffield United have to play each other. For me it's probably a midfield diamond, like Schmeichel Justin Bennett Evans Fuchs Ndidi Praet Tielemans Perez Vardy Iheanacho Chilwell for Fuchs and Maddison for Perez if available. But Christ, look at that back line... Edited 13 July 2020 by Beechey
Guest bennytwohats Posted 13 July 2020 Posted 13 July 2020 Let’s see the reaction. Kaspers interview tells you that the players think this happened at a point where we can turn it around. On the surface that seems naive, but then it’s natural for us to think that. It is hard to predict how these kind of results impact a team - eg look at how Southamptons season completely turned around after we battered them. Over to the players and Brendan now. They’ve pleasantly surprised me many times this season, albeit not lately. Hoping, but not expecting, they can do it again.
Popular Post kingfox Posted 13 July 2020 Popular Post Posted 13 July 2020 If Sheffield Utd end up beating us then I’ll stand and applaud them. They have everything that we don’t, bottle, fight and passion, three elements that have got them to where they are. Look at their form since football returned, they started off appallingly, yet they’ve managed to bounce back because of the three elements I mentioned. Wilder possesses a backbone, his no nonsense style is what makes him likeable. I wish Rodgers had that, yet since Christmas we’ve discovered that he doesn’t. I hope we can bounce back and our quality is able to shine through again; however if we don’t then you’ll know exactly why 4 1
foxfan92 Posted 13 July 2020 Posted 13 July 2020 People saying they aren't going to watch this game either only recently started supporting Leicester or their memories of what it's like to support this team have been tainted by the recent successes the club has enjoyed (including an unbelievably good run before Christmas). I think that one shot Kasper saved right on the stroke of half time has changed Rodgers plan for the second half. This is whats most alarming though. When we beat Southampton and Newcastle Rodgers seemed to be installing a ruthlessness in the squad, a desire to kill teams off and show no mercy. More recently Rodgers seems to have remembered he learned under Mourinho and is trying to defend a lead rather than add to it. I'm hoping he reflects on last night and works hard to revert to the mentality that brought us success in the first half of the season. Rather than worry about the defensive hole Cag's absence will bring, I want to see a team trying to press the opposition back and take the game to them. It may seem crazy after the performance last night to hope we can win the next 3, but if we do we still make top 4 regardless of the other results. However badly they've played of late, Villa managed a win, Bournemouth managed a win too, (even without their best defender), we now have to play like a team with their back to the wall and fight, show desire, show us fans that this result hurt them too and banish the memory with a strong finish to the season. 4

Back five picks itself because we have no one else. Depressingly, that has to be it. I'm sat on the shitter writing this but still reckon I could outpace that back 3 right now.

Guest Danny Clender Posted 13 July 2020 Posted 13 July 2020 Looking forward to seeing this starting 11. I hope there'll be a review and hopefully an opportunity for players to get their opinions heard and reset for this game. Repeating the sentiment of an earlier post I read, but all I can hope for now is to close out these last 3 games with determination and the correct attitude, everything that the second half against Bournemouth didn't have.
Number 6 Posted 13 July 2020 Posted 13 July 2020 Looking at missing 3 of our back 4 for this and in a horrible run of form. Sheff Utd were really good against Chelsea and look like they've picked up after an iffy restart. Arguably the easiest of our remaining three games, but it's a very tricky three games. Would bring Morgan in as I think he's a bit better in the air and will be more effective against Sheff U. Nacho must start as he prevents Vardy becoming isolated. Kasper Justin Morgan Evans Fuchs Ndidi Gray Tielemans Barnes Nacho Vardy 1

LCCFox96 Posted 13 July 2020 Posted 13 July 2020 I want to see a response to that horror show last night. Whether we were playing Barcelona or Boreham Wood in the next game, what I would want to see next would be the same. We're up against an aggressive, in-form side who will bring a dynamic game and a lot of energy to us. I want to see us get in their faces, match them up and make their lives difficult for 90-minutes. We did that superbly in the reverse fixture and are one of a few sides who won at Bramall Lane this season. I don't want to see us get edged out after a turgid first 30mins and see us chasing the game down. I don't want to see us cave in and make calamitous errors and give away soft penalties. And if that does happen again, I especially don't want to be told we played well and just couldn't quite find that final ball. Find it! It's getting to the stage where it really is now or never. As others have said, last night should have set alarm bells ringing. It was a massive wake-up call for both Rodgers and the players. 3 points last night and we'd have made life so much more comfortable for ourselves. I wouldn't be surprised to see Morgan come back in for the next game and a switch to a 442. Hopefully Vardy's strong dislike for Sheffield United is worth a couple of goals! Schmeichel Justin Evans Morgan Fuchs Albrighton Ndidi Tielemans Barnes Vardy Iheancho
lgfualol Posted 13 July 2020 Posted 13 July 2020 Can we shave Soy's head and pretend he is someone else? Bennett and Wes scare me
Guest Danny Clender Posted 13 July 2020 Posted 13 July 2020 Is it that time again to go back to Plan A.0 Version 2016 ? Schmeichel Justin Evans Morgan Fuchs Gray Ndidi Tielemans Albrighton Iheanacho Vardy Give Rodgers an early holiday, we'll see him again in pre-season, and then let the team get the 9 points needed to finish the season with some credibility. We can even link up with Ranieri, via Zoom, through the VAR monitor, nobody uses that anyway.

Think we got a glimpse of it last night in that first half. Linked well as a central attacking midfielder for Vardy and Iheanacho as opposed to being shoved out on the wing which he clearly isn't comfortable with. And wasn't great as a striker partner with Vardy but then neither was the whole shape and tactical change which was an important factor too. 1
