First defeat to a team in 40 years, 35 years, 20 years etc. 10 goals in 12 games is appalling. I think our teams that finished bottom and were bottom in 2014/15 for months had comparable records. Has all the signs of Brian Kidd leaving United for Blackburn. Be quite something if it ended up with the same outcome.
ARM1968 Posted 13 December 2020 Posted 13 December 2020 Think it’s in our interest for Arteta to turn this around. We do NOT want Arsenal looking for a new manager. 1 1
StanSP Posted 13 December 2020 Posted 13 December 2020 Mad this wasn't given as a penalty. Imagine if it was the other way round. 3
CrispinLA in Texas Posted 13 December 2020 Posted 13 December 2020 I don't think Arteta is the problem with Arsenal, it's more issues with the players they don't seem very happy. And Ozil being frozen out is a factor aswell.
trabuch Posted 13 December 2020 Posted 13 December 2020 Watching MOTD and Mourinho is a horrible bit of flesh. He slagged of Palace for playing one dimensional football - what a hypocrite. He also blamed his players for the loss. The sooner he ****s off out of football the better - he's given absolutely nothing to the game. 1

So they either stick with Arteta and hope for the best or??? Bet you’d get interesting odds on a 4 month Arsene return.... Imagine big Sam at Arsenal. Stuff of dreams 1
Bats8711 Posted 14 December 2020 Posted 14 December 2020 Sam would immediately improve Arsenal. Hope it doesn’t happen
Popular Post StanSP Posted 14 December 2020 Popular Post Posted 14 December 2020 Sounds like Pep. 'opposition didn't play the way we wanted them to play for us to win so now I'm salty and I must moan about it' 11
rico Posted 14 December 2020 Posted 14 December 2020 How did the ref only give Xhaka a yellow originally? He was stood right next to him! 2
RowlattsFox Posted 14 December 2020 Posted 14 December 2020 I'd have sympathy with Arteta, if they were midtable and rebuilding but to have that side anywhere near the bottom 3, after 12 games is ridiculous poor management. They aren't a great side but they have more than enough to better than they are. Still tight of course and a couple of wins and they'll be midtable. Looks quite similar to Ranieris second season.

winteriscoming Posted 14 December 2020 Posted 14 December 2020 Would be interesting to see who Arsenal go for if they got rid of Arteta. Do they go down the same route and go for a former player? - Vieira. Recently sacked by Nice. Can’t see them trying it again as it clearly hasn’t worked with Arteta. I don’t think allegri or poch (with his spurs links) would want it they’d both look for somewhere bigger. I do think Rodgers would be interested if it came available.
Fox in the North Posted 14 December 2020 Posted 14 December 2020 Gerard Houllier has passed away RIP 4

I really wanted potter to do well, I think he would have done better staying at Swansea and building them back into the premier league. Potter seems more like a kindly geography teacher than a P L manager . I wish him well but think he will be lucky to survive the season 1

They stopped Liverpool playing for so long. Its just classless from Klopp - the more and more he speaks. Acts a bully. Insults his opponents. The more I question his integrity as a human being. Compare it to past great managers who, yeah, had the odd sore loser syndrome. However, guys like Klopp, Guardiola etc. They just seem to lack basic integrity. Guys like Ferguson, Shankly, Clough, Lippi etc. They just had more about them. You were out-thought by your opposing number. Your players were out-fought by those on significantly less wages. If you have nothing worth saying, don't say anything. Don't bring down your club and its fans due to a lack of integrity. It just annoys me. 1

Hahaha its as if these top clubs expect the rest of us to play exactly how they want us to or how they think we are going to play. Being tactical and outwitting the elite is not allowed and points should be deducted at the final whistle for attempting to do so. I'd be embarrassed if Rodgers started spouting dog shit like Klopp, Pep, Mourinho etc do. The only one who is even remotely graceful and normal is Lamport but that will probably change as he becomes more experienced at a perceived big club. 4

Got Hasenhuttl written all over it. BR is having success here, you’d be mad to go to Arsenal right now from Leicester.
Aus Fox Posted 14 December 2020 Posted 14 December 2020 RIP Gerard Houllier, a terrific manager who I enjoyed watching his Liverpool team play. 1

I never really understand when managers leave sides in the Championship who are clearly on the up, for teams in the Prem who could go either way. Like he literally jumped at the chance to join Brighton, when he could have stayed and probably built a team to take Swansea up. I could understand someone like him joining and Everton or West Ham, but just don't see the attraction to take a risk like that on Brighton, where expectation will be high despite not having much right to be.

Good point, however, I think because he hasn’t managed a “big” team before he won’t be able to resist. Where as BR will think twice before taking a job at another big club, especially whilst we are in Europe and challenging at the top of the table.

The thing is that I would say (bias maybe) but Arsenal clearly have more talented players than Southampton where I'm not sure you could say the same about Leicester. Also money will come into it, Brendan is already one of the best paid managers in the world, Ralph is poorly paid by premier league standards, I believe he is one of the worst paid. 1
