You actually think champions league would stop him from going if a massive club came in? He signed a four year contract, rather than 5 year contract for the reason.

Probably not no. He is the only player I’m worried about....

I doubt it, Liverpool are so spawny... played rubbish against West Brom and today but looking like six points

Yeah they have been lucky. But it’s a team full of world class players, they can win games when they play badly.

“We won the fa cup” doesn’t excuse the fact that with 5 games to go, we were 7 points clear and should have finished comfortably in the top 4. We were 12 points clear of Liverpool not that long ago, and now they’re level on points and ahead of us on GD. I appreciate that top 4 for us is an over achievement, but when you spend 68 out of 71 games there over two seasons, you have to get CL in at the very least, one of those seasons.

Winning the FA Cup was amazing. Memories for a lifetime. But saying “we won the cup” when we should have finished top 4 and didn’t, just let’s the players off the hook.

I cannot believe the reactions in here, you would never have known we had won the FA Cup 4 days ago 😂

Fact is it looks like we aren’t good enough for CL football again but that isn’t anything to be ashamed about it is another season of progression. A cup win and top 5, build in the summer and we can continue moving forward. I’m disappointed with how this is looking like ending up I still have some hope but I’m not going to be ashamed of the team or say they are bottles after another fantastic season

Just win the Europa league next season, it’s Europe, it’s winnable and it’s a ticket to the champions league. Of course it’d be great to be in the CL next season but it’s looking unlikely and it’s our fault. Plus hopefully we’ll all be back in the ground

Super League scum in the top 4 places.

We've only got ourselves to blame but for them to do what they did, and get away scot-free, it's just all wrong.

Imagine how much we'll be buzzing now when we beat Spurs 2-1 in the last minute and Chelsea have been held to a draw at Villa.

You know we're never going to do things simply.

Also... if we finish fifth and win the Cup... that'll do.  Some fans dream of that.  I know I did when we were in League One.

Yours Sincerely,

We worried about Mahrez, Kante etc. Players move on, until we can pay 300k a week it’s gonna happen.

The CL sorts out our future, it’s amazing we won the cup but the CL is far more helpful to keep our players together and so we can keep

progressing

We have a trophy. One of the most prestigious in the fookin world... so we drop outta the top four, disappointing yes game changing ... probably not. Yes the financial clout would be nice but you know what ... that trophy and May 15 will live on in our memories forever. Falling out the top four, frustrating but it’s not gonna be immortalised.

Exactly. People need to remember where we were 13 years ago. I don't think Man U fans will see the EL final as nothing and if we are in that competition, perhaps we should be looking to win it.

Not even 13 years, two years ago I dreamed of Europa League football. When we were finishing mid table I often wondered whether I would ever see Leicester in Europe again or whether we would slowly drop back down. I would take the conference league if that was all that was on offer

Basically this. It hurts a lot but end of the day we won a fvcking trophy and we’ve been trumped by teams with massive budgets. Nothing we can do when you’ve got Perez missing sitters and Chelsea can rotate their full  front 4 worth over 100 mil.

I know the answer is CL football helps to invest and break that barrier but what can you do when it’s a glorified closed shop anyway.

Have to prioritise the Europa League.

I also feel winning things does that, don’t use the Wigan thing please that is different to a team pushing forward every season and breaking top 6 twice...

The fixtures have fallen nicely for Liverpool also. About five games against teams that had nothing to play for, where as I think the only team we’ve faced with nothing is Southampton who had an FA Cup and 9-0 on their minds.

We can definitely forget about goal difference being an issue. They’ll put six or seven past Palace in front of their own fans.

We aren’t good enough lads. Simple fact. We don’t have the squad depth compared to the clubs we’re up against. I’m as gutted as anyone but it’s a simple fact of the matter. The way the ESL clubs have it set up they basically have their monopoly anyway.

Nope. This is too defeatist. We were one Perez missed shot away from making this game tonight redundant. Or one party away from a full strength side against West Ham.

PWe need to strengthen and go again next season. If we finish 5th 2 seasons in a row that's a massive success for club like ours.

Chuck in the fa cup and it's pretty good.

What makes it so painful is that we start the sessions so well then fade at the last hurdle.

Keep this team together.... add some quality, and we could genuinely win the EL. I just hope the pundits and media don’t paint it as a “bottle job”. Because that’s the kind of crap that helps turn players heads.

It’s been another great season, being on next season.

Read that back again mate. Again, we are not good enough. Can’t be relying on Ayoze Perez to dig us out in a top four crunch match. We need better, they’ve got better. Simple fact of the matter

That could have been a defence last season when we had to deploy clowns like that wolves loanee in defence but we’ve got a deeper squad this season to the extent that the likes of Praet, Ricardo and others   Haven’t had game time . We have just played poorly in key games once again

Also guys I hate to be that boring cnut but huge likelihood that European games are going to home fans only.

From a pure view as a supporter and follower of LCFC, there’s a bit of a prestige surrounding the CL and we may have to lose a player but we’ve been there before.

That is squad depth, it is why teams with much bigger resources than ours finish so strong every season

And for the second year running our final 2/3 games are big 6 teams

I don’t think we will have much to spend again next season without it as like most clubs we are skint
