Players we expected to be terrible, that were actually decent

We’ve all been struggling to deal with swapping champions league football for EL. Now the rumours have dropped from Tagliafico to Targett.

It got me thinking about past players who we’ve all expected to be trash, but actually ended up being pretty good.

Let’s bring some optimisin back with some stories of previous ‘targett’s’ that turned out to be Taggart’s.

Ill start with an obvious one, Albrighton. An uninspiring free agent.

Kasper strangely. Before signing him, my main knowledge of him was being a young keeper sold by Man City and losing his temper frequently. I remember watching us play Leeds and him coming racing out and should've been sent off

He didn’t come with glowing references from Leeds fans. they were a bit Meh about him being sold... Told us he wasn’t very good at coming for crosses.

David Nugent.

To say I was underwhelmed is an understatement.

Turned out to be one of my favourite ever players and a bloody nice bloke.

Underwhelmed with Nugent? He was like one of the most sort after players at one time when he was at Preston. Pretty sure he was a bit of a capture??

He completely flopped at Portsmouth and was loaned out to Burnley, where he didn't exactly set the world on fire.

Happily proven wrong though.

Vardy was far more underwhelming. We'd spent a season crying out for a great striker, chasing Billy Sharp and Maynard and we signed Vardy. Who certainly fulfills the thread title of actually being decent. And then some.
