Said before half time we need Maddison off instead of Praet. There was a reason why we were winning with Praet and Tielemans before Maddison came back in to the lineup - starting with lineup at Liverpool.  Praet not only does dirty work, he is a clever and direct player who

makes clever runs and opens up space for others to keep movements going.

He seems to have done better coming on as a sub this season, really needs to find some urgency in his game else he won't have the career he thinks he'll have.

shame for him JG has emerged, Grealish dictates the tempo of play holds the ball up etc

Maddison is a bit of a one trick pony with his passing, yes he occasionally finds space for a good pass but more than often he is a passenger.

His progression seems to have taken a backward step under BR, he looked a real asset for the first 12 months under BR

Don't want to keep going on about the Grealish comparisons, but when Grealish gets the ball you expect him to do something or create something. Maddison just gets it edge of the area and passes to the wing...no good at all

Not got his form back since recovering from his injury ....... the odd cameo minutes here and within games but he isn’t affecting matches as a player of his status should.  He has no chance of going to the euros unless he really ups his game ........ some of you are singing praet’s  praises but I’m yet to be convinced that he is much different re outcome.  Final ball not good enough too often imo.

One of the reasons why Grealish wasn’t being picked for England 12 months ago was because Grealish’s numbers weren’t particularly great... and that is precisely why Maddison isn’t getting picked. He’s a luxury at times.

Hopefully Ricardo, Soyuncu & Ndidi are getting similar deals!! Unlikely though.

Would have taken Maddison off instead of Praet. He's a luxury and we can't afford luxuries. I don't think Rodgers has the bottle to get the best out of him or indeed out of the squad generally. Maybe Maddison and  Rodgers are both luxuries. What  a disappointment.......both of them?

He was great in midweek, and has been in Europe but is showed up a bit in the premier league. He needs time and space. Until he can run with the ball, go past players, hold onto the ball better and for longer he won't reach any higher than he is. Brilliant at what he does best, but pretty average in most other regards.

Why he does he look like he is running with lead in his boots

 

the lad is 24 he should sprinting across the pitch, again he has ability but he has to work as hard as a ward prowse does on his game.

He wasnt great but he played the first half as a winger, something that he's not. I do wish he'd stop shooting so much from outside the box and falling over so easily though, when he does actually play the ball we ger some good moments from him.
