I’m hearing Maddison has also just picked up a new injury putting on one of those hefty “diamond” necklaces he’s been flogging on Instagram….

I guess we will finally get to see what the forgotten Benkovic can do... hoping for some crazy plot twist where he turns out to be a complete revelation...

it happened with Soyuncu. I honestly wouldn’t be that surprised. I still believe there’s a good player in there

We were so worried about the newts, we never bothered to check if the Seagrave site was an ancient burial ground.

It was..full of the trophies that Spurs have won

At this rate fans are going to be asked to play the games.

I've just purchased a Pay and Play ticket

Most of the injuries are entirely explainable and unfortunate. Ricardo and lil Wes were the victims of appalling challenges.

Soyuncu, Barnes, Vards, Tielemans, JJ all went because they were being  'redzoned' due to injuries elsewhere.

Castagne and Evans are naturally vulnerable and they would pull up at any other club

AFCON is outta our control

You're ignoring the likelihood that if we focused on less intense training but concentrated much more on specific exercises to strengthen the lower body joints and to make them more supple and flexible then the legs would be better able to withstand bad tackles and unbalanced landings.

I'm only going off hearsay on here but it's been consistently, and strongly, rumoured on here that training is very intensive.

If you look, for example, at the ridiculous frequency with which hamstring injuries are occurring.  It's well accepted that footballers' hamstrings are extremely tight and are ripe to be tanged when overstretched.

And to put it down to bad luck ignores the fact that we've had worse injury problems than any other Prem team, it's been going on for 3 years, and is getting worse.

Perhaps BR told the lads to go to the darts in the hope someone would catch COVID and we can postpone the games!

I'm surprised none of the darts flew in the direction of our team and put them out for a few weeks. Was a miracle nobody got injured.

i've (yes i cant believe that i have but i did) looked through the PL HANDBOOK

i cant see where the rules specifically allow for a postponement on the grounds of injuries. we can appeal to the PL board to postpone the game but because we already had it cancelled once, why would we get a sympathetic hearing ??  how would we argue that any of the injured players are unavailable as a consequence of having covid??  i dont think we had that many covid cases - i think it was as much players isolating because unjabbed. from what i can see, those who were unavailable due to covid are now fit. .

when leeds played arsenal on dec 18th, they had a kid at right back and the rest of the team were first team squad members. the bench looks to be all kids, one with experience.  on that basis, i think we will struggle to argue for everton to be called off unless we pick up a few more knocks tomorrow.

There's been an update to the handbook I've seen based on the precedents set. You're right it could just be injuries but a few of our lads have covid. We may well have to suck it up but I doubt we get through tomorrow with no more injuries.

I must be the only one here who's strangely excited to see what weird and wacky line-up of forgotten faces we put out tomorrow and in the coming weeks, then! lol

Simply players having to return early or play too often due to lack of options.

But surely they don't have to return as we can fill in with development squad players.  Not the best option, but a better choice in the long term than a player returning too early and then missing several games.

Playing 2 games a week has been too much with the squad we have but I cannot remember a season like this for injuries. The Europa and league cup runs haven't helped plus the rash tackle in pre -season that put Fofana out. Even before that we knew Evans was a  bit dicey with his chronic foot issue.

Doesn't sound as if the club want to spend money at this time of year but need a couple in for sure for bolster the back line. I don't think we should assume that JJ or Fofana will be able to contribute much between now and the end of the season - as we saw with Ricardo it takes a while to get back to fitness.

Surely the Premier league will listen but whilst I'm not expecting Coutinho we need to bring forward some summer spending or we are going to have to accept a pretty low finish in the table

How many of these injuries occurred during training? They've all occurred in matches pretty well haven't they?

....it would be Interesting to find out how many were impact injuries, as opposed to players breaking down!!!

People saying our squad can't cope with the rigours of PL, domestic cups and European football are making excuses. Supposedly better equipped sides than us still can only name 25 players in their squads and the only difference is maybe they have better fringe and academy players but the one thing we've criticised our club over is investing more in better squad players than in improving our XI which in turn ought to improve our squad anyway.

So we've plenty of fringe players to rotate across competitions and we haven't once gone full strength in Europe this season and yet we still have the most diabolical injury problems I've ever seen from any club that I can recall. It's not good enough and heads need to roll. I'd be parting company with Brendan this summer if this continues, he absolutely has to take the blame here, he's got a horrific record at Celtic and Liverpool too but those spells look like a picnic compared to what he's masterminding here right now.

That was a very innocuous challenge. Can't blame that one on our physios either. Not like they can do scans on the pitch.

truth is that while we cant blame them 100 percent this policy of allowing possibly injured lads to play on aint ok. any threat of injury should be taken seriously

We laugh but Benkovic might actually be buried under a car park somewhere.

Let’s have a bit of fun. Why isn’t Benkovic playing? Wrong answers only.

Brendan got a little merry at the Celtic Christmas party and gave him a kiss. Would have been fine but Benko’s breath ****ing stank and it was over since then…

Whole thing seemed avoidable from our perspective and the leagues.

If we bought a capable centre half when fofana got injured I genuinely don't think we'd be in this mess.

Weve been playing catch up all season and needing points. Sounds ridiculous but the inability of vestergaard and the lack of trust in him has meant soyuncu and Evans have played way too many games.

...whatever is going on in the medical and S & C  program, it would be Interesting if the players who have constantly stayed fit throughout, have taken part in the whole program, or are there certain apparatus that they do not use, in their individual fitness regimes.

At this moment it may be better to train at home and avoid whatever we are doing at the training ground.

Just read we literally only have 8 outfield players fit and available?
