With the advancements in faking digital media, I’m wondering if there will be a return at some point to good old-fashioned film, for media outlets who want genuinely verified material before publishing.

Be immediately spammed with Pearson and ostrich memes so as to render it unusable.

Driving around Aylestone, Eyres Monsell area and seeing lots of streetlights on in the middle of the day.

Nice to know the council's being careful with our tax money.

This popped up on my LinkedIn earlier today. Whilst it's great news a new specialist Cancer hospital is being built; this post by a leading name in the field really highlights some huge issues.

The majority of these facilities are built in a few locations, and we're seeing more and more areas lose highly talented individuals, research grants, facilities funding to these areas. Leaving other areas with aged, out of date facilities, not fit for purpose.

Why do old people, retired people go shopping on the mist busiest times, say friday and Saturdays.  They have all week but they storm in when its so busy.  Food shopping is not a social event, use your time more productively FFS.

Agreed. My mum is 70 now and she goes on a Wednesday afternoon. She hates it when shops are too busy too.

My mum and dad used to go on Tuesday, it was like their little date, ( 85 year old and 82 year old). Always used to do the same rounds. Bank 1st to put money in and then another bank to take money out.( yeah never understood that one) and then go market get there shopping and go pound shop get some junk food for the kids ( meaning me) and grand kids lol. Then go to McIndians sit down and share a half chicken and rice and cos my mum loves the wings from dixy or benny (can't remember which) my dad get her a box to take home. And when me and wife are in Leicester we would do a double date with em :') that's until my dad passed away a couple of years ago. Now when me and the wife go down. We make sure we get her a box of chickens wings. Ahh love old people love.

Agree i think most do to be honest. Like my rents didn't go out much but when they did it would only be on that Tuesday. Other than that they would spend alot of their time in the garden, sharing their stories and giving alot of love to everyone.  They wouldn't waste money on things that didn't give them joy or give someone else joy. My dad used to always say do what you love and if you don't love doing it make sure someone else does cos they will bring you happiness and when time is up you can smile knowing you spent your time making yourself happy or someone else( probably why he never failed to get my mum her wings or take her on dates). :)

I don't understand this either. I flatly refuse to go anywhere near shops or visit anywhere at the weekend or school holidays. I plan it all for days in the week. My parents, other family and the old people I know are all the same but when i was working Mon -Fri, shops etc were often full of mature people.

Just your perception I think.  I do my weekly shop on Thursday to avoid the crowds.  I know a few old people (my generation) and a lot of them seem to shop when I do and at other less busy times.

Ever shopped at Morrison's?

The near-dead population are in there every day of the week, shuffling about, confused, lost, shambolic, leaning on their trolley handles as if they're about to collapse, checking the date on every food item they pick up, unable to understand the self checkouts, blocking the aisles, unaware of anyone else around them.

I will never shop there (for at least the next 10 years).
