Gigantic result, that. Soton were excellent first half. Thought we grew into the game again. Off day for Vardy. He should have had one or two himself.

 

So glad to get that win. Bring on Chelsea.

Absolutely buzzing with that! Such a mature performance from us and Rodgers, which is a really good sign after the capitulation last season.

 

what a midfield we have, one of the best in the league no question.

That was a fantastic win, the sort of game you need to win if you want to get into Europe.

 

I can't believe Perez didn't square that ball at the end, could have cost us the game, got to be squaring that to Vardy. Speaking of which, I hope it's the usual tweak he feels and he's ok for Chelsea, I wouldn't fancy relying on on Iheanacho for a long period of time.

 

Nice to see a bit of a gap to 7th.

 

A win against Chelsea would be ridiculous, but I'd be happy with a point.

I actually disagree. They create nothing up front. They play with tempo and movement - but not impressed

JJ's dummy against Walcott and the run and pass for Vardy in the second half more than made up for that surely!

Brilliant 3 points, I actually think overall it was a good performance too.

 

First off, I want to again give Southampton credit for that first half. Tons of injuries, top scorer out of the game, they still came out like a steaming freight train. You can see why they are so high up the table, and Hassenhutl has done brilliant for them.

 

But for us, it was also very impressive. Two words come to mind; Control and Composure. We didn't panic and just played our way into the game. Even when under pressure, we were making good opportunities, Evans and Fofana great. Then when Tielemans and Ndidi once they got up to pace of the game, we controlled the game superbly. Second half wasn't slick, but didn't need to be, we dictated the pace of the game and where the action points were. Tielemans again brilliant with two assists, but it was the whole team, and perhaps the only disappointment is we should have scored more, as we squandered a number of opportunities. Hard to believe Jamie Vardy did not score tonight!

 

Soyuncu was brilliant on his return. After 10 minutes he was already commanding the box and leading the back line. What a lucky club we are to have 3 brilliant centre backs in Evans, Fofana and Soyuncu.

 

Honestly, this sort of game shows you how far we have come as a club. That had the hallmarks of a very top team about it, because instead of folding to pressure, we soaked it up, played our way into the game, then ran out fairly convincing winners in my book.

 

Evans was MOTM for me because in the first half I thought he kept us in it, but with two lovely assists, Youri Tielemans also could and maybe should get it. Lovely to see Barnes score again too.

 

Very happy Foxes fan here!

Agreed, against a so called big six side too, but we've got plenty of players on top form atm should he not be available to put up a decent performance.
