Vardy ruled out for "a few weeks"

Recommended Posts

It’s been obvious he hasn’t been himself for weeks, not fully fit. In my opinion this is good news, as the alternative is that he is just declining with age. A 100% Vardy is one of the best strikers in the world, Ayoze or Ian will do fine in his absence and Barnes / Madders are chipping in with plenty of goals now so hopefully we’ll be OK

Well that's our season over we are nothing without Vardy, can we get those to 2points to take us up to 40?

To be fair it’s been building up to this he has lost some of his sharpness lately. Others however have stepped up to the plate so let’s see how it pans out

Just now, Webbo said:

If you were planning on buying him, would you announce Vardy having an operation and not keep it secret a bit longer (would that be possible, Idk?). Wouldn't it push the price up if Celtic thought we were desperate?

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s all been planned. I can’t imagine this being sprung on the club and we may have already had contact with Celtic. But that’s just an assumption.

At least madders is further up where he thrives and will probably score more goals than perez! It's clear Under isnt going to play any longer so may as well stick him in the U23's! Ricky will go right wing and albrighton to the bench. We have enough rotating wing backs in JJ/Castagna/Thomas/Fuchs and albrighton as a sub for both wing back or winger.

Bad news, but I'm not going to panic. I think Perez has looked good recently, and we still have Ricardo or Under who could be added to the front line, allowing for an audition for Harvey for the future no.9 shirt. We do have options. I won't be holding my breath, but maybe Nacho will take this opportunity if given it.

It could also have happened at a much worse time, as the transfer window is open. I would love to see us sign someone like Edouard and someone like Otavio. I think it could happen. It seems like it is definitely something the club are working on, at least.

Probably much better to potentially suffer short term and have a fully fit Vardy for the bulk of the rest of the season than let him carry on at a reduced level of what he can be.

Hmmmmmm, we cannot end January without signing at least 1 striker and/or an attacking midfielder. We are primed and raring to go in 3 competitions with a serious chance of winning at least one of them and at the very worst be getting a top 4 spot. We cannot get this wrong again, if we spend now and it requires us to have to raise funds or move the parameters for spending in future then sometimes decisions like that are needed. This season is a rare opportunity.
