There's also no shred of evidence that he will improve the defence. If we look at the stats we've gradually and consistently conceded more goals the longer he's been here and I don't think he has a clue how to reverse it.

Forget injuries for a moment, 27 conceded in 15, I'd expect a manager to do better than that playing 4 strikers in defence if he's given time. Otherwise, what's he being paid for.

He's incapable of turning it around based purely on the fact he keeps doing the same things when things blatantly aren't working.  That's just asking for rubbish result after rubbish result through stubbornness.  Thats not a good manager for me, fa Cup win or not.  He's been stuck in a rut here with performances and results for the best part of a year.  I've been saying it for over a month now, just get rid.
