Mickyblueeyes Posted 18 September 2022 Posted 18 September 2022 Honestly, I’ve gone past just wanting Brendan out. I want the board, Top, Susan etc. out as well these guys have benefitted from the loyalty of one man - when left to do it themselves, well….this is the result.

It's not like BBC new are gonna cut the coverage of the queen's funeral for 'We have breaking news regarding Brendan Rodgers, let's go to our sports correspondence live at The King Power stadium' 9

I personally still think he we will keep his job somehow, until the Forest game at least. Edited 18 September 2022 by FoxesWalk
Tom12345 Posted 18 September 2022 Posted 18 September 2022 Besides his weakness in mentality, his biggest problem has been his clear blindspots. He really loves to focus on defence as we all know. He talks about it all the time. He insists on starting Ndidi at all costs despite his poor form, recklessness, lack of ball controlling ability for a PL player, goes into hiding when we are in possession etc, all that because he sees (like some fans here) him as the “destroyer” and his inclusion automatically means we are better in defence. But ironically, his mistakes regularly costs us goals and his lack of ball controlling ability means that the whole team pays for it by being a handicap and puts us under more pressure to make a mistake defensively especially when pressed and during the transition moments. We often concede at moments when we are under pressure and we turn the ball over because of that. Ndidi is ok the rest of the time when our defence is settled, but it is when our defence has yet to settle back in formation that has been our biggest problem. Much of the time it starts because of our handicap. We are so much better ironically defensively when Mendy is on. I can’t believe for a supposed elite coach Rodgers could not see this. I know not many can judged by the fan sentiment here until recently, but Rodgers gets paid £10m a year!
RowlattsFox Posted 18 September 2022 Posted 18 September 2022 Might not be announced until Tuesday but will probably happen today.
MrLuke Posted 18 September 2022 Posted 18 September 2022 I’m starting to think the board had no contingency plan or any list of potential replacements should it all go tits up/BR got poached. Either that or they’ve fallen for his nonsense about being able to pull us out of tue mire. Regardless for how much I detest Chelsea, I admire the pace the moved at to replace Tuchel.

Interesting point, I personally never had any doubts over the future running of the club after that night in October 2018. It was all about the sadness and loss. Looking back, it seems more and more that Vichai was the one who knew what he was doing and since he has gone, we’ve slowly fallen apart….

Rodgers was a very popular appointment and remained so until the middle of last year. People saying they never liked him etc are either lying or looking at the past with the benefit of hindsight I think it is unfair of you to speak for everybody here. Speaking for myself, I did not like Rodgers due to the person he is and was not a fan of his appointment in the first place, it felt like when Sven was appointment. Granted that first year from Feb 2019 to the end of the year things were going very well so I was able to bury my feelings about him and enjoy the performances. Let’s not pretend though that covid was the reason we lost out of top 4, we had started the slide from the Christmas before and lost games such as Southampton at home and Norwich away. Could the 4-0 win over Villa on the eve of covid have been a turning point? Maybe, and yes teams did get players back in the break but we had already undone a lot of our work by then. That first game back against Watford was a perfect sign of what was coming, a set piece goal, in the last minute, a minute or so after scoring to go ahead, that basically sums up what we’ve seen for the last year or so no? So yes, although I only read this forum and didn’t post until recently, at the end of that season was when I first had doubts and thought he wouldn’t take us forward. I understood they wouldn’t change him so soon and didn’t expect them to. The next season we started well and had some particularly good games such as Man City, Leeds and Arsenal away and he has dined off those with many people. Sure enough, we folded again and repeated the feat of collapsing. At the end of the season 2020/21 I definitely wanted him out and that hasn’t changed despite the FA cup win as that was not on him apart from playing strong sides in early rounds to give him credit for that. From the start of last season it has been a shambles. I recall saying to a Newcastle supporting mate last October before they got Howe, I hope they would take Rodgers as within 3 years if he stays we will go down. Genuinely what I said at the time. With the benefit of hindsight, no I did not expect it to go so badly so quickly or for him to so publicly turn on the club. I have seen others such as @The Year Of The Foxand @filbertwayget vilified for being amongst the earliest to turn on BR. They were accused of being entitled. Maybe just maybe they could see the warning signs early and we’re not afraid to call them at the time? 3 2
