If he's the main winger signing that's an indication that Rodgers intends to stick with 5 at the back as his primary formation.

Most people thought Jesse Lingard was crap too, but he added a new dimension to the West Ham attack.

 

Youri Tielemans also looked out of his depth at Monaco, we rescued him and he became our hero. How many times in football does a player sign for a big club too quickly and they don't make the grade initially, before redeeming themselves later down the line? KDB, Lukaku, Salah, etc, etc.

 

I'm sure there are plenty of other players we could go for, but I wouldn't rule out a player like this straight away. He's one of those that could either become another Demarai Gray or could become another Harvey Barnes.

 

Leicester City will never be the type of club that goes out and spends 60m on a proven top class player. We sign players with a calculated risk - we know they have talent and it's up to us to develop that talent and make the players we sign into world class footballers. It doesn't work every time, see Benkovic as an example. But when it does, we create a Fofana, James Justin, Soyuncu type of player.

This is exactly the problem.  Huge pressure going into that club.  They rarely develop young talent unless from their own academy, instead are happy to spend mega bucks on proven, ready-to-go winners.  Dan James always stood out as an odd signing for them, he probably needed one or two other clubs first.  I don't doubt that the lad has talent, he just needs the right coach and the right environment.  If the price was reasonable, I wouldn't say no.

He’s another player who moved to a big club too soon. I don’t think he’s as bad as people think, he still has potential & Rodgers is a good coach for young players. 
 

Certainly not the worst option out there, especially if he only costs 15-20million. 
 

This silky, creative left footed Mahrez clone everybody wants, just isn’t happening. It feels like a pipe dream to be honest. Brendan probably prefers a winger who has similar attributes to Albrighton which is why we’ve been linked to players like McNeil in the past & now Dan James.

For the right price, I'd be all for this. It's unlikely we'll find anyone with Vardy's pace to lead the line and so if we're to sacrifice a little quickness for the sake of a more complete forward (Edouard), it wouldn't hurt to sign somebody who can make up for it elsewhere, and Daniel James fits the bill.

...if that is what you are seeing now, then it looks like something has changed!!!

  When I have watched him play for  United awhile back he was very  in your face and cocky, nothing like you have portrayed. He is quick and direct, tends to be greedy or just not aware of the players around him.

  He looks like a quality acquisition and someone who could benefit in our environment. If what you are seeing is someone who is scared of his own shadow, then I suspect he has gone through something, that would have greatly impacted on his ability on the field.

It’s bullshit but I’d actually be happy to have him on the bench. We are crying out for some pace in the team and a wild card or two. We are seriously lacking in options that can bring something different.
