We turned our noses up at Jesse Lingaard, just shows you what players can do when the pressure is off playing for such a big club like Man Utd.

Do we really know that or are you just quoting the infamous anecdotal knowledge of foxestalk.:)

Not if it's our main right wing signing. If it was in addition to someone like Pereira from West Brom, then Dan James on a loan to buy could be worth it to see if he develops. James can cover both wings with Barnes & Pereira first choice + we'd have Albrighton as a rotation option.

If he's the main winger signing that's an indication that Rodgers intends to stick with 5 at the back as his primary formation.

I’m assuming he wouldn’t be viable in a wingback type role, much like when Albrighton fills in? Or is he just an out and out winger?

He won’t be the first, or last, player that got tempted to join Utd ahead of their time and was simply overwhelmed and consumed by it all.

This is exactly the problem.  Huge pressure going into that club.  They rarely develop young talent unless from their own academy, instead are happy to spend mega bucks on proven, ready-to-go winners.  Dan James always stood out as an odd signing for them, he probably needed one or two other clubs first.  I don't doubt that the lad has talent, he just needs the right coach and the right environment.  If the price was reasonable, I wouldn't say no.

We tried that with Wayne Brown.

Didn't work out well.

He’s another player who moved to a big club too soon. I don’t think he’s as bad as people think, he still has potential & Rodgers is a good coach for young players.

Certainly not the worst option out there, especially if he only costs 15-20million.

This silky, creative left footed Mahrez clone everybody wants, just isn’t happening. It feels like a pipe dream to be honest. Brendan probably prefers a winger who has similar attributes to Albrighton which is why we’ve been linked to players like McNeil in the past & now Dan James.

Do we need manure cast offs?

Ritchie De Laet, Matty James and Danny Drinkwater did alright for cast offs. There is something there with James for me, it was too big a move too soon for him that's all

For the right price, I'd be all for this. It's unlikely we'll find anyone with Vardy's pace to lead the line and so if we're to sacrifice a little quickness for the sake of a more complete forward (Edouard), it wouldn't hurt to sign somebody who can make up for it elsewhere, and Daniel James fits the bill.

He looks like a rabbit in headlights when comes on the pitch for Man U. You reckon just under 20m is good business when Man U got rinsed for 15m!

...if that is what you are seeing now, then it looks like something has changed!!!

When I have watched him play for  United awhile back he was very  in your face and cocky, nothing like you have portrayed. He is quick and direct, tends to be greedy or just not aware of the players around him.

He looks like a quality acquisition and someone who could benefit in our environment. If what you are seeing is someone who is scared of his own shadow, then I suspect he has gone through something, that would have greatly impacted on his ability on the field.

It’s bullshit but I’d actually be happy to have him on the bench. We are crying out for some pace in the team and a wild card or two. We are seriously lacking in options that can bring something different.
