Surely Rashford can’t be ahead of Foden in the pecking order.

Second or third name on my team sheet is Foden. Can’t believe he doesn’t make some people’s team sheets

If Tyrone Mings was as good as he thinks he is we’d have another Ruben Dias on our hands.

Assuming 3 at the back, I'd go:

Pickford

Chilwell

Maguire

Stones

Walker

Trippier

Henderson (if fully fit, if not then Rice)

Mount

Grealish

Kane

Foden

A typical Southgate performance

Win, but limp over the line with a penno against inferior opposition and bore us to tears whilst doing so

I so hope the actual tournament can induce a spark from our players cos we have some really good ones

The archetype England friendly. The amount of players we've played who won't even be going is baffling. Appreciate the Chelsea/Man City thing has made it a bit tricky but even so.

Limp over the line against inferior opposition in the pre-tournament friendlies via a penalty. Get exposed in a tournament. They're the usual tournament routines. I hope to be proven wrong but I bet I won't be.

I've never known anything like the PR job on Rashford. I've never known a player so routinely get praised for having bad games.

Convinced nobody actually watches him. Sterling's been poor but people have pointed it out many a time. Rashford seems to constantly get away with it. It's baffling.

Or put Bellingham in Mount's place and move Mount to 10 and Grealish in Sancho's place.

Are we hoping the officials can't count to 11?

Ffs - changed formation and forgot to drop a midfielder lol . Sancho is out in that case.

     Anyone but Pickford

Walker Stones Maguire Shaw

        Rice Bellingham

   Foden Mount Grealish

               Kane

However it won't be anything like that... Rashford sterling Henderson all be in and a back 3 and extremely defensive

Has to be the team that starts imo.

Not Rashford, please.

Not when he's not fully fit and not on form.

Foden should start.

Croatia 9/2 looks decent odds!

As long as we dont lose to Scotland. Thats my only hope for this tournament. Dont lose 1 0 to a Che Adams goal on the break

Good side. Mine is similar:

I'd go:

Pickford

Trippier

Stones

Slabhead

Ben 'VAR' Chilwell

Rice

Mount

Bellingham

Foden

Kane

Grealish

Just think these fullbacks are better.

It's a toss up between Chilwell and Shaw in my eyes but I'd pick Walker ahead of Trippier for his ability to recover with the pace he has.

Having Foden and Grealish would mean no pace in behind, whilst I agree they're both better players individually, I think the teams needs the blistering pace of at least one of Rashford, Sterling or Sancho.

Come on, one of you must be able to give me a passionate plea to be excited about the upcoming tournament. Spare me all the patriotic stuff but give me some solid reasons for positivity. I'd love to be buzzing for this

I watched England for the first time in a while today. My conclusion is I thought they were pants and nothing has changed. There is some talented players in the squad, they don’t look like they’re a team. The players we had should have been more of a threat, even if they were ‘second string’.

I probably watch the odd match here or there, but after what I’ve seen every time I’ve watched England, I won’t lose sleep if I miss a match

Just a good craic isn’t it. Getting excited over watching us inevitably disappoint but now we can do it in a pub aslong as we keep 2 metres between everyone and log in on track and trace

Sterling or Sancho, yes. Rashford just seems totally off the pace - according to Utd fans he's just not properly recovered from his injury.

So we won a game 1-0 from a dubious pen and where they could have drawn in the last 10mins if it wasn't for Johnstone's brilliant save (who wont play a single minute of the Euros lol). What was Henderson doing? If I was Calvert-Lewin I'd be fuming.

I can see us losing to Croatia. I'm calling it: 2-0.

Caught 5 minutes of it and I saw Hendo miss a peno and us under slight pressure from them.

Southgate is just a proper wet lettuce ain't he, the sort of teacher you'd bully at school.

Roll on losing to Croatia next week.

Swap Rashford for Foden and Shaw for Chilwell and that would be my team. Rashford not playing that well recently and Sancho has yet to impress me in an England shirt.

I would go for this to start, as I don’t think Maguire is going to be fit.

Pickford

Walker

Stones

Coady

Chilwell

Henderson

Rice

Foden

Mount
Grealish

Kane

What I think Southgate will go for

Pickford

Walker

Stones
Coady

Trippier

Rice

Henderson

Chilwell

Mount

Kane

Rashford
