Leicester City are considering a move for RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka this summer.

Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers is on the lookout for Jamie Vardy’s long-term replacement at the King Power.

And the speedy Daka, one of the most exciting young forwards in Europe, features high among the targets under consideration by the FA Cup winners.

Daka scored 29 goals in 36 games for the Austrian side last season, yet could be available for as little as £17million.

That price tag appeals for several reasons, including the potential for the 22-year-old to have a huge resale value in years to come.

Chelsea and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the player, who is open to a move to England.

But Leicester can offer him a quicker pathway into the first team and that could tip the balance their way.

Rodgers knows that, at 34, Vardy hasn’t got too many more years left in the tank.

Although the former England striker still scored 17 goals last season and is showing few signs of slowing down.

Kelechi Iheanacho had his best season in front of goal for Leicester last season as well, scoring 19 goals.

But Rodgers still has to find someone to spearhead his team post-Vardy and there is a belief at the club that Daka could be that man.

It’s probably been leaked to put pressure on the Eduoard deal more than anything else.

I’d be happy if we signed both but it would be a big commitment to play two up top, that would no doubt cause a bit of controversy.

Also, in researching him, I came across his hometown club Kafue Celtics who he used to play for (it’s about 50km south of Lusaka). Their badge seems somewhat familiar.

Of the two I would probably prefer Daka though, 6 foot and absolute rapid

Would love this signing. I know less about him than I do Edouard, but Daka looks an ideal heir to Vardy.

^ This. Not Haaland level, but really, really good. I don't mind Edouard, but I think Daka is better as alone front man. Whenever I've seen him I've been really impressed; hard working, can hold it up, good composure when finishing. He'd be better than Kelechi or Edouard as the lone striker in a 4231, which is our best system.

 

I could see us getting him TBH, at the other clubs he will be a backup, he will get more starts here!

Can’t see this happening at all. Almost certainly a smokescreen for edouard. 
 

I actually don’t think I could handle signing them both. It would be absolute dream land. No idea how we’d keep all 4 of these guys happy though

In Daka I see somebody who could genuinely fill Vardy's boots. I'm completely happy with Edouard, at a reasonable price too, but I think this is the one I'd go for above all.

The thing about the 352 is that, yes, we've not looked too great in it but if players are brought in like Daka and soumare, alongside a Left sided CB....It COULD work.
