Ahh, so, we go from the subliminal to the redonkulous.

Im going out on a lime here and I’m going to citrust that drugs are bad, but Madders will stay. Make sense to you lemons?

I can’t see him tempted by Arsenal, but you possibly could if they were throwing hundreds of millions on a massive rebuild project.

As it is I’ve just read that they are looking to sell Lacazette to fund a move for Tammy Abraham… if ever you could summarize their fall from grace in a transfer dealing that’s probably it.

I don't know if he was told too by BR but at times today he way playing up top on his own and as a DM at times as well. Pointless for any of our players but particularly for one who needs his confidence after last year's write off.

I'd refuse his sale this year and make another £10m+ next year as he's got better players around him now in Soumare etc adding strength to CM so I'm hoping he can showcase his talents more. Plus i hate arsenal that much that I would very much like to pick up arsenal's Canon and aim it up their arses.

I think there is a chance he will go don't know why seemed a bit strange when he went down injured after about 5 minutes, don't forget we played Maguire in some pre season friendlys.

Probably didn’t help that Burton were giving him a proper kicking every chance they got, the incident you are speaking of was also a pretty dirty challenge on Madders

Have arsenal put a high bid in for him then

There is always the chance that smith-Rowe’s  people were asking for too much. That they encouraged villa to keep bidding to raise their contract demands from arsenal.  And arsenal may have leaked the Maddison interest to say to smith-Rowe that if you really want to leave then that’s fine, we have other options …..

I think this is exactly what happened. Perhaps they were legitimately interested and may be again in the future, but for now it's dead in the water.

Maddison showed a lot of skill today.  Got kicked a lot.  Both are because he is a top level player.

I mainly liked his reactions after a hard tackle in this game. He looked fired up but not to the point where he would do something silly. His body language screamed he wants it this season and was looking to get in the ball as much as possible.

It was epitomised by the way he was appealing for a handball at the very end of the first half to the ref!

Great attitude for a guy supposedly wanting to leave!

Looking forward to seeing a stronger fitter Madders this season!

Was it me or did Madders very much make a big deal of applauding the fans and showing his appreciation on Saturday?

I've been wrong previously although I've called all players we've lost over the last 6 years but I can't see this one happening.

He's clearly a gifted player with a lot to prove so why would we sell him at this point?

A good season and we may come under more pressure next year
