No different to us placing De Bruyne 'on the back burner' once Tielemans signs an extension 2

He was off playing golf whilst his team mates struggled without him and then (reportedly) went to a pub at 12am that night for the re-opening of pubs. I don't expect him to be a Saint or a Leicester die hard and I do think he gets a hard time from sections of our support but I do expect him to show some dedication and commitment and I don't think he has. On the pitch, I like Maddison. We are a better team with him in it IMO and don't necessarily want to lose someone of his ability but I'm not going to be gutted about losing someone who has shown questionable dedication. It's not wrong to expect 100% effort on and off the field and for the reasons I stated, I don't think he does that. Is that actually a fact though? what is fact is that I've seen Madders in the stands animatedly watching a game when injured, eyes darting around and totally absorbed in the game. I've rarely seen a pro look so involved in the stands. Also fact is seeing him.joyously celebrate youri's fa cup goal when on the bench 14
Popular Post Bergen fox Posted 22 July 2021 Popular Post Posted 22 July 2021 Close thread it ain’t happening now smith got contract extension and number 10 shirt 8

It was widely spoken about at the time. If it had been disproved, I missed it. The Coventry pub thing was definately not a joke. Not saying it was correct but a few folk did say it and again, if it was disproved, nothing was ever said. I do agree he has seemed invested when in the stands but he certainly wasn't there for the WH game although admittedly, he could have been told to stay away.

turlo Posted 22 July 2021 Posted 22 July 2021 Romano is maintaining his view that Maddison to Arsenal will be very difficult and mentions he's spoke to people close to Leicester: Romana says "my feeling on Maddison has always been, also talking with people close to Leicester, will be very difficult because the price is so high, so i think it will be really really difficult" 15 min 15 sec in he talks about Maddison (i need to learn how to clip from YT into a video file) https://youtube.com/watch?v=AD0yicobalM 1
Claudio Fannieri Posted 22 July 2021 Posted 22 July 2021 Wonder if we are leaking these rumours to try and generate interest from other clubs, create a bidding war and get our asking price. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Chelsea come in at some point or even Man Utd if they can offload Van Der Beek
Popular Post Corky Posted 22 July 2021 Popular Post Posted 22 July 2021 Some of these Arsenal Twitter fans are definitely people who believe The Hundred is proper cricket. 9

STUHILL Posted 22 July 2021 Posted 22 July 2021 Don't think we would accept anything less than £70 million for him and Arsenal won't pay that. He needs to knuckle down with is and try and be our stand out player this season. If he stays fit, he is capable of winning games for us. 1

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Chelsea come in at some point or even Man Utd if they can offload Van Der Beek I feel like this is bound to come back and kick me in the bollocks but there is absolutely no way Chelsea will be interested in Maddison, and I highly doubt Man United would be either. He is not good enough for one of the established top 4 sides to go and spend £50m+ on. He’s arguably worth a punt if you’re Spurs or Arsenal but at Chelsea he’d be competing for one of two spots behind the striker with Pulisic, Havertz, Mount, Hudson-Odoi and Ziyech. He’s 4th choice at best of that group.
Foxxed Posted 22 July 2021 Posted 22 July 2021 I hate Twitter. It’s just arseholes drumming up bullshit in a delusional attempt to influence their club which other fans leap upon making the aforementioned arseholes feel even more self-important and delusional. It makes me pine for the days of ceefax and running down the shop for the sports mercury. 1
An Away Move Posted 22 July 2021 Posted 22 July 2021 I think Maddison needs to get his head down this season. We saw that dressing room unrest can affect performance in the West Ham game. Any whiff of more stuff like that he needs to be moved on. I like him, but you have to have everyone pulling in the same direction. There’s too much noise surrounding Maddison. Being so flash doesn’t help for some reason even if it might not affect performance. 2
An Sionnach Posted 22 July 2021 Posted 22 July 2021 I see (according to Sky Sports anyway) that Smith-Rowe is the new Arsenal no.10 so that's that then.
Genesis1 Posted 22 July 2021 Posted 22 July 2021 I can't wait until the article that says Arsenal have ended their interest. Love to see how all their fans talk there way out of that one!
