really hope we lead these fkers on and reject a big bid for him on the last day so the Arsenal fan base sends twitter into a complete meltdown

If they put a big bid in on the last day we should rejected it regardless . For our own good !

Love how Journalists write these articles as if Arsenal getting Maddison was never going to be an issue has they wanted him

Exactly. No different to us placing De Bruyne 'on the back burner' once Tielemans signs an extension

Is that actually a fact though?

what is fact is that I've seen Madders in the stands  animatedly watching a game when injured, eyes darting around and totally absorbed in the game. I've rarely seen a pro look so involved in the stands. Also fact is seeing him.joyously celebrate youri's fa cup goal when on the bench

Ok, "fact" was the wrong word. It was widely spoken about at the time. If it had been disproved, I missed it. The Coventry pub thing was definately not a joke. Not saying it was correct but a few folk did say it and again, if it was disproved, nothing was ever said.

I do agree he has seemed invested when in the stands but he certainly wasn't there for the WH game although admittedly, he could have been told to stay away.

The Coventry pub thing definitely was a joke. A joke going over a few people's heads doesn't turn it into a serious statement of fact. It didn't need disproving - it was a joke.

From the wall-paper this was taken at his Grandparent's house and says he is a really top bloke who cares about family, this despite being very busy.  Close thread.

Romano is maintaining his view that Maddison to Arsenal will be very difficult and mentions he's spoke to people close to Leicester:

Romana says "my feeling on Maddison has always been, also talking with people close to Leicester, will be very difficult because the price is so high, so i think it will be really really difficult"

15 min 15 sec in he talks about Maddison (i need to learn how to clip from YT into a video file)

Wonder if we are leaking these rumours to try and generate interest from other clubs, create a bidding war and get our asking price. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Chelsea come in at some point or even Man Utd if they can offload Van Der Beek

How is that even an insult?

“People outside Leicester only became Leicester fans after you won the title”

I’m in an absolute fit of rage right now.

So you was never a Leicester fan?

Madders doesn't look good in a arsenal shirt

Don't think we would accept anything less than £70 million for him and Arsenal won't pay that.

He needs to knuckle down with is and try and be our stand out player this season. If he stays fit, he is capable of winning games for us.

I feel like this is bound to come back and kick me in the bollocks but there is absolutely no way Chelsea will be interested in Maddison, and I highly doubt Man United would be either.

He is not good enough for one of the established top 4 sides to go and spend £50m+ on. He’s arguably worth a punt if you’re Spurs or Arsenal but at Chelsea he’d be competing for one of two spots behind the striker with Pulisic, Havertz, Mount, Hudson-Odoi and Ziyech. He’s 4th choice at best of that group.

I hate Twitter. It’s just arseholes drumming up bullshit in a delusional attempt to influence their club which other fans leap upon making the aforementioned arseholes feel even more self-important and delusional. It makes me pine for the days of ceefax and running down the shop for the sports mercury.

I think Maddison needs to get his head down this season. We saw that dressing room unrest can affect performance in the West Ham game. Any whiff of more stuff like that he needs to be moved on. I like him, but you have to have everyone pulling in the same direction. There’s too much noise surrounding Maddison. Being so flash doesn’t help for some reason even if it might not affect performance.
