I don't know how anyone watching the community shield can conclude Vardy is "done".

He’ll score 15 PL goals this season. He won’t be letting Daka in gracefully, I’ll tell you that now.

show some respect.

I agree, Vardy does deserve some respect, but they might not be too wrong. Jamie did look like he'd lost a little of his edge at times last season. Could have been coming back from injury too soon and a decent summer break has fixed that problem.

But you can't stop the march of time. Unfortunately, unless we're growing a clone in a cryo chamber at Seagrave, the fact remains he's not getting any younger and sooner or later he'll lose his spark.

Our best hope is that we see Christiano Ronaldo levels of lasting the course, I believe he's got a season left in him. But kel did see his stock rise astronomically last season and went from being the guy that most of us would have binned off without a 2nd thought to a very, very important player. He's not number 1 pick yet, not if we're playing with a lone striker. But any deviation from that tactic and he'd be one of the 1st on the team sheet

i don't think he's fully done, he still offers other things to the team. his finishing is definitely not as it once was tho

His stats were unreal the previous season - only Bale had a better scoring rate per minute, and his finishing stats were among the highest as well.

Appreciate he's a confidence player but who isn't?

He has to stay unless we get a ridiculous offer of say 50 million plus.

Not sure you lose this ability, but he is certainly going through a tough time finding the net. But as Lineker and Shearer regularly point out on MOTD all strikers have leam spells. He'll come good again and have a hot scoring streak sometime during the season.

Its more the 2nd half of last season than one community shield game.

In that game he missed 2 chances he would have buried in previous seasons.

Hes done.

Vardy is an absolute club legend but he is 33-34, he shouldnt be the main man anymore. Thats fine.

Based on the back of last season, friendlies and the Charity Shield I felt we didn’t look like scoring when Vardy was the spearhead. Each time he was subbed I felt we had more. I love him. He’s a legend. But if we’re to be in with a chance of fourth we can’t afford to drop points via sentimentality. I want Rodgers to be a ruthless decision maker. That said, Vardy will start the first 15 games at least. If the goals are flowing after he gets subbed, only then could it change.

I think Vardy's best role at this point is to come off the bench after an hour and be a spark against tired defenders.  The problem is with this club Vardy doesn't do anything Vardy doesn't want to do, and if he wants to start he'll start.  Pair that with Rodgers' disinclination towards rotating players and it could be problematical, especially if Kelechi were to leave.  If nothing else with all three of them around you can sub Vardy off after 60-70 minutes when the legs really start to go.

We're blessed to have 3 top quality strikers, I'd be happy to see them all get there fair share of game time this season. The difference this year compared to last is that if Vards goes 3-4-5-6 games without a goal then there's no way one of the others doesn't come in for him, 2nd half of last season, especially with Barnes injured, we had no other viable way of playing other than with Kel and Vards up top.

My prediction is that having genuine competition will mean that Vardy will start the season hot.

Can people stop saying Vardy is done.

It may well end up being the case but let’s give him a bit of time to find his spark again. I think he has earned that much respect.

Would take a silly big offer to get Kel and Roma are not the side for making big offers. Never going to happen.

How come random people on internet forum affect Vardy finding his spark?

i do aswell think that he is "done", this may be harsh wording but no one is disrespecting Vardy thats for sure.

For 40 million - sold, for me.

Harsh but if it means him getting starting game time, it's good for him and we can spend the money on the right hand side. He's not a starter for us as he can't play the lone striker role.

Unpopular I'm sure but I'd be tempted to sell.

Get a RW and we only play one up top, two strikers is fine for the time being.

Could also plan to get Edouard either late on, in January or on a free next season.

Bottom line is Iheanacho doesn't make the first XI when everyone is fit so a £35m offer is very tempting. All academic though as I believe Roma have thrown his name in to get Abraham over the line.

It's not going to happen but just thinking about it has upset me in the same way thinking about Muzzy Izzet leaving traumatised me as a child.

It's not that Vardy can't do it any longer he certainly can. It's the amount of time needed between games for him to fully recover.

That's where his problem is. He'll take longer to recover than the younger players, that's why Brendan will use him sparingly and use the Kelechi and Daka on occasions.

The reason Vardy is not scoring as much lately has a lot to do with how he has expanded his game and is now a provider also.

As for Kelechi ? . Unless its for big money I doubt he will be going anywhere plus I doubt he even wants too.

Would take upwards of £40m for me to consider. Daka and Vardy absolutely won't work together. Kele is a decent 10 and 9. Also jeopardises Wilf at lcfc long term.

We're all entitled to an opinion, but your sniping against Rodgers is so utterly, completely off the mark...

(FWIW my opinion is Praet = meh.)
