Seemed a bit squeaky bum time toward the end, but still a wins a win.

Vardy excellent, Barnes  we didn't really see a great deal of but yet again give him an allowance for that, still coming back to fitness after his injury.

Tielemans usual class.

Madders looked poor, maybe still having injury problems. :dunno:

Perez I thought did ok.

For those of you calling Vestergaard, give the guy a chance. He's barely had chance to get to know the squad or as to how they play. It'll probably take him a few games to settle. Then we'll see if he is the right signing or not.

Thought Nacho did well when he came on.

For me the worst player yesterday was without doubt Amartey. His passing was woeful, he put us in trouble a few times.

We'll probably see a few changes for the West Ham game, hopefully onward and upward.

Dan is not a fan of passing it across the back , like Morgan and Huth he needs to lay it off to a midfielder or boot it long but you know that is not Rodgers style. We don't play a box to box midfielder even though we now have three in Praet, Soumaré and KDH.

very lucky to win... shouldn't be like that at the Fox Lair

amartey has been a liability at the back for a couple of seasons.

Having slept on this - a win is a win.  Good first half, crap second half.  This pillocking around with 5 at the back is baffling and how Perez gets to start, can only be down to him having some photos.  When Timmy is fit, hopefully he comes in at RB and Ricky plays on the right wing.   What has happened to Benko?  Dan's hospital passes are extremely worrying.

37 pts to go.

A.Perez has been less than average for  a few seasons. Not sure how he gets picked in the 1st eleven all the time.

Don’t agree we were lucky to win. Scrappy game and we were clearly too passive second half. But Wolves were poor as well. They huffed and puffed second half, but didn’t create anything really. Their two great chances were down to our errors.

We also had two great opportunities second half. When Barnes wouldn’t cross the ball to Vards and then Jamie blazing well wide later on. Obviously, pleased to hear the final whistle, but in reality Wolves will know they didn’t do enough and can’t really complain about the result.

Good interview, explains why he switched the system.

"I felt in that system (the 343) it can really stretch you. In the first game of the season you aren't at your full fitness, so the 352 can block up the space and give you two strikes when you break out."

Also I’m not a fan of five at the back but the change won us the game. If we used the ball better, we’d have score one of the five counter attacks we had

I agree, we looked far more vulnerable in the first 15 minutes of the second half than we did at any point after the double change. The late onslaught was to be expected in a close game between two well-matched sides on the day.

I’ve said in here a few times that Maddison’s hip injury will probably end his career

It’s one of those weaknesses that’s very difficult to sort out

Watch this space…

Yes ist Bloody worrying, I started to be Concernedwhen it hit,   just again back-end EOS...

I thought he was a gem of a buy...:(

Bit of a mixed bag but we take the 3 points and move on.

Kasper was never really tested but I have total confidence that he would have stepped up if needed.

Cags hasn’t been mentioned much on this thread but I thought he was outstanding, looked totally in control and always available for the pass.

Luke is the real deal.  Great skills, strong in the tackle, occasionally gets caught out of position particularly when switching from back 4 to a back 3/5.

Ricky P was back to his imperious, pre-injury days.  How he got between the two defenders to set up the goal was beyond belief.

Big Dan was also back to his old self - unfortunately.  I have to cover my eyes whenever he tries to pass out from the back and his positioning went completely to pot when we moved to a back 3.

Wilf did Wilf things all afternoon and also has a great song!

Youri ran the show as always.  TV coverage completely misses the way he directs everything going forwards and back.  Could easily have had a goal just before HT.

Harvey started very brightly and looked to have the beatings of their RB.  It was hard to see from so far away but I suspect the RB changed his body position so Harvey couldn’t turn him so easily and became much less effective.

Madders just wasn’t quite there.  He still has the capacity to unlock defences with a slide rule pass but it never looked like happening.

Perez always gets a bad rep on here but I thought he worked hard in the press and looked more physical than last season.

What can we say about Vards?  I still don’t know which part of which foot he scored with but that is the talent of the man.  Missed one when through on goal he would have buried 9/10 a couple of seasons ago but makes up for it with top class ‘howling’ shithousery.

Kels looked good when he came on, went looking forward the ball and always ready to get stuck in which is a huge change from 2 years ago.  The reaction in SK1 when he came over at the end said it all - fast becoming a fan favourite.

Hard to say much about Westy.  In that position he will need a good few hours working with the rest of the back 4 before we can really tell.

Soumare seemed taken by surprise by the pace and intensity in the Prem.  I suspect he will need a few more cameos like this before he is ready.

Wolves were more adventurous than last year, particularly after the break.  The higher line than under Nuno meant there was less room in the middle of the pitch which might partly explain Madders’ lack of impact on the game.  They were very niggly though I thought.

Pawson was shît as per usual.  Does anyone know what Vardy was booked for?  Their number 5 committed 3 yellow card fouls before he finally got one.

I would be worried if I was a Wolves fan. Especially after watching the highlights. We were well off it and gifted Wolves some great chances and they still didn’t look like scoring.

Some Wolves fans on the way back we’re saying how they didn’t win that game. Felt like responding ‘because Traore mate, he’s pants’.

The Leicester lads battled till the end so you have to give massive credit for that.

Kicking the ball away once the free kick had been given against him

It’s a win against Wolves… it’s never pretty, we’re usually lucky to draw or win, they’re just one of those teams against us!

Plus, at the end of the day, we knew from his interview on Thursday that Barnes wasn't likely to play 90. As soon as he comes off we pretty much can't play 433, we've got no wingers.

I was trying to think of the last time they scored at our place. I knew we'd kept clean sheets against them since they came up and before that have missed each other a bit due to promotions/relegation.

I do recall them hammering us 4-0 (?) years ago when McCarthy was their manager (I think).

.. it started with Bringing Wes on against Watford when he first came, in his first match!!!

It is a weak attitude to the game and he just is not tactically adept to handle these situations.

A low level manager would resort to this ploy, he has played in Europe and managed for years and he resorts to bringing in a big man in order to combat pressure.

Let us take away the inniative from  the opposition instead of inviting them on and being under pressure.

The way we play it (or should play it), I think Rodgers often uses the switch to 3/5 at the back as a way to play more on the counter. You’ll see Barnes gets pushed forward more or (as yesterday) Iheanacho coming on to give another forward option and a busy midfielder (Soumare yesterday, Choudhury last season) coming on to give more energy and win more in the middle. So it’s not really about piling more bodies into defence. However, I do think we may have to re-assess how we use it now the PL is back down to three subs per game. It limits the options, as ideally to make this tactical switch you are bringing off the 10 and one or two of the wide forwards. We could have done with at least Vardy coming off as well yesterday.

It’s never been more than three…you might be thinking of the Euros?

Just watched the LCFC.TV highlights and we were a bit better than I thought. We had some glorious chances spurned and like I said all of Wolves chances came from shocking mistakes by us.

The guys prepped for a battle tho and it was great seeing our lads (Thomas, Amartey, Soyuncu) throwing themselves in front of the ball to block shots!

Also loved seeing the mini celebration by Cags as he was sliding watching the ball go out for a goal kick! 😂😂

It’s great to be back

Can I sit next to you at games instead?! On total agreement pn all points.

Vardy kicked the ball away in (justified) astonishment at Pawson's incompetence.
