I thought he was unbelievable today our defenders couldn't get near him

Adama? The lad needs a rugby ball…. He was shite, got into some good position but turned not jelly when it mattered.

Every time he ran with the ball 3 of our players were around him and not one win the ball off him

And? What did he do with the ball after he did a 360 twizzle and passed it sideways? We literally gifted him a chance, and he couldn’t even work the keeper. Absolute bobbins.

Will we ever field a full team.again?

Even excluding fofana.and JJ (two automatic starters but all teams have to.cope.with a couple.of injuries) defence was missing castagne, Bertrand and Evans today

It really has been an extraordinarily harsh run of injuries. A.minor miracle we limp through these games and still get 3 points

Today was an example of how deep the squad is…. Daka didn’t even make the pitch!! So we’ve come a long way since last season!

Wolves are a bitch to play against, they’re stubborn, frustrating, hard to break down….. it was actually a really hard fought win today, they could have got three goals today, as we could too. Good opening day victory.

Pros

  • Vardy's movement was class, his finishing outside of the goal was off a bit.
  • Cags was brilliant and had a ton of work to do, due to Big Dan and Big Vest.
  • Ricardo is back!
  • Perez found a number of beautiful passes.
  • Youri's play as the 10 in the second half was amazing.  SO many wonderful final passes that should've ended with a better result.  I am ready for Tenlemans if Soumare is ready for the 8.

Cons

  • Ndidi had a number of uncharacteristic turnovers, hopefully it's just rust.
  • Barnes very rusty final decision.
  • Big Vest was a mess.  Too many mistakes to name, one nice line-breaking pass into the midfield was his only positive.  It was a very difficult situation for him, so hopefully it was a one-time thing.
  • 5 ATB is toothless.  Please stop it.
  • I hope Maddison's form after the first 15 was due to a knock.  I hope that knock is not an injury.

Was he a mess? I know he misjudged a header but what else

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but Bertrand wasn’t in the squad today because he tested positive for COVID. Not because he’s been sent back to Southampton in disgrace, or any of the other bollocky reasons given on the match thread.

Harsh on Vesty, he misjudged one header, and made a vital tackle at the end of the game. He’s literally trained once with the guys and looked pretty good when you consider that. I disagree about Wilf too, I thought he was superb today, and what was good is he too is now dropping in and wanting the ball, it’s probably the best I’ve seen Wilf on the ball, granted a few first game errors, but other than that he was pretty damn good.

Maddison started well, but the knock probably had an impact and we desperately need a right winger who pushes out wide so he has another target to look for with a pass. Ayoze was okay, but he’s not a winger and he often failed to make the right run to aid Riccy, but other than that he was okay.

I don’t know how many times people have mentioned it, but Wolves are no push overs, they’re a solid side and will cause any teams problems on their day, and they’re pretty hard to break down. Today proves we can win tight ugly games, and that’s not bad going for day 1. Good practice for next Monday…..

Nah you’re wrong whenever Brendan has switched to go defensive to see a game out we have a great record, trust me.

Probably because we were already winning. (Or was that your point)

Misjudged 2 headers, the second one resulting in a point blank header near the end of the game. Thankfully Wolves really did have a nightmare in front of goal.

We won. First game of the season after the Euros and COVID.  Or much else to add on that.

I will say I’m optimistic about refereeing this season after today. Let things run, VAR barely used, lino flags up quick again. Lost it a bit last 5 but generally though he had a good game!

Seen a lot of Wolves fans say how good their support was today. I sit at the opposite end of the ground and barely noticed them :dunno:

They were bad but then again so were we.

That's just the way our ground is.
