Would still not be able to name them both in the EL squad. Would be OK in the PL squad as CHO is under 21.

Athletic and others have said CHO story is fake news. We never enquired. London.football is a gutter level source. They are the same lot that invented the Maddison to Arsenal story.

It doesn't matter who we get in as a right winger. He won't be as good as Mahrez so he'll be deemed a failure. Lookman would be an upgrade on Perez and that's all we can hope for at the moment

Is it just us that gets on players backs before they’ve kicked a ball. We have some real entitled tw@ts in our fan base

You say that as if each player is a surprise or an unknown quantity.  Each player has kicked a ball.  Lots of them.  That's why if we are linked with Beradi there is excitement and if we are linked with Lookman, well, not so much.

Put it this way, if we signed George Baldock from Sheff Utd for instance, would you have certain expectations about how he would play for us or would you say "wait and see you entitled tw@ts" in the vain hope that somehow he might become a totally different player than the one we already know just by pulling on a blue shirt?

Since when did right footed player just become left wingers. I’m sure he’s more than capable of playing on the right.

THANK YOU! I'm glad somebody said it. Could switch with Barnes easily during games and give people something else to worry about.

Hope so.

Bit of a reality check for all those poster saying we have got lots of money and will be splash 30-40m on a RW

Nope, he is a left winger and coming as backup to Barnes

Which would be sensible given that Barnes is still working his way back from the knee operation. They will have to be careful with him and Lookman will provide decent cover as needed.

And that was playing for a relegated team.

Where he was the only real outlet meaning that defenders constantly doubled up on him.

That's true. However, I think it's been said that his stats as a right winger are poor.

His stats there look a bit poo compared to when he's on the left though

Yeah, it makes total sense. We have 2 LW and 2 RW with Lookman in, and will no longer be forced into a back 3 regardless of opposition if Barnes has a knock.

People just need to accept we have Perez and Albrighton on the right for another season I think. Suspected this might be the case when Albrighton signed a new deal. Lookman can cover there if needed, but is likely to be 3rd choice on the right. Though with Perez out for 3, I hope he goes straight in there to bed in, or at least comes on as a sub for Marc.

Agreed

Should've kept Sowah but I'm assuming he might not have met the clubs attitude policy in the end so they cashed in on him. Got to give him a chance and there were glimpses of him at Fulham when he destroyed full backs. Here's to hoping he's like Under, shit in one league and great in the next.

The more I look into him the more hopeful I get. I think if we can get the potential out of him that was promised in his youth, he could end up being a player and a half.

Despite our obvious gap at RW, its often been said on here that the reason we failed to make it over the line for CL qualification was because Barnes got injured and we had to change formation because of a lack of cover.

Lookman may work out at RW, but even if he's 'just' cover on each side that would still be a big upgrade over where we found ourselves at the tail end of last season.

Not the flashy marquee signing that a lot of us wanted like Madueke, Berardi etc., but a reasonable strengthening of the squad in areas - plural - that we lacked. For a modest fee there's not much to complain about, imo.

Only 1 right wing.

Relax everyone this is cover for the left wing. He can also play anywhere across the front line. He might not have the skill or tricks as ünder, gray or ghezzal but maybe he has the right attitude to succeed?

Who am I trying to kid? This is just a massive punt like ünder and ghezzal.

In fairness, we need another LW in the squad anyway, so even if it's not the priority position, it's addressing a very clear need in the squad.

The amount of you that think he’d be coming in as “Barnes back up” is baffling

He needs to be both.

Sam Baldock isn’t a player the club have been looking at for years, he isn’t a player that had a good year in the premier league, Lookman is, we should clearly have different expectations, no idea why you compare the two, Lookman is a much better player so he deserves a chance. We’re run sustainably, we had to lump on a defender in a injury crisis, any chance of splashing the cash disappeared at that point and our expectations should of adjusted - some fans still thought we were going spend a wedge (wages inc) on their acceptable player; why?! This type of signing gives up options when we have LIMITED means to do so, we are where we are as a club.
