Time to watch this and get excited I guess

Predominantly right-footed but very decent with his left peg

All top manager have an ego, it goes with the job.

Yes... again, not a criticism but it's something more of our fans need to come to terms with.

We have a manager who probably thinks he could turn a GK into a 30 a season striker.... it's really not that surprising, he backs himself to 'change players fortunes'.... he'll get one right eventually.

Give him some credit. He wouldn't try that, he's seen Schmeichel's aim...

I don't think they will, I think they will only realise how good he is once he gone.

Even though I feel we need a natural right winger,  one thing I'm happy about is this kid is rapid.

Feel we lack speed down the wings, we have seen Ricardo's speed bring success down the wing in the last few games.

Hopefully Lookman when given the chance can do the same.

We can debate for ages whether Under was good enough for our team, but you can hardly blame him for coming here in a mindset to "waste an opportunity to seal the move". For whatever reason Brendan (and we've seen this with other players) did not want to give Under game time. It may well be the case that Brendan thought Under wasn't good enough, but there's not much the player can do in those circumstances.

I knew pretty much straight away why he wasn’t starting. In the majority of his appearances he spent the majority of time with slumped shoulders and with a face like a slapped arse. He probably didn’t adjust quick enough, but there’s no time to settle in, he needed to hit the ground running and didn’t. He barely offered anything when he did start.

Same people who would have turned their noses up at Villa reject Marc Albrighton.....washed up journeyman Danny Simpson......conference player Vardy.....Forest fat boy Wes Morgan......Peter Schmeichel son .....couple of unknowns from France called Mahrez and Kante.......United reject and relegated Jonny Evans......a slabhead from relegated Hull......failure at Monaco Tielemans.....old donkey has been Huth.....I'm sure the list goes on but you get the gist.

Basically my point is every transfer is a gamble....a calculated gamble.....even those that you think will work out - Inler, Gray, Praet, Kramaric don't always work out that way.....everyone deserves a crack and this lad clearly has raw talent

He's a typical Leicester signing.

Someone with something to prove.

.. I  know exactly what you are saying and I  feel the same!!!

The rationale is Rodgers is perfectly happy with what he has on the right side, that is, Albrighton, Perez and Ricardo but is bringing Lookman in,  in this instance, he is a back up for Barnes.

Now obviously this still leaves the right side weak, we can see that but for now it is not an issue for Rodgers as we play a somewhat lopsided formation, in respect of when we are in possession.

I can see the trade off, and to a degree it does make sense, the bug bear is why are we so late in the day looking to fix a position (that was not an essential problem) when there is a greater need somewhere else. Once again we have to go through a season handicapped by the absence of a player to knit this team together.

Lookman must be capable of doing a more effective job than Perez.

And we needed back up on the left

Biggest thing I’ve taken away from that Lookman highlights video posted a few pages back is that he plated up a lot of chances for Fulham last season that better players would have finished.

Would have had even better numbers in a side like ours based on last seasons form.

Anyone know how we're going to play this lad? Mostly on the right? On the right, but he'll come a little more centrally? Very curious about how he'll fit into our system.

Sums everything up nicely. He probably wouldn't be my 1st choice but let's not judge him before he's even arrived.

just watched it and thought the exact same thing. He's quick, good at short passing in and around the box, with the players we have and the way we play we might complement his skill set a bit more than Fulham

I think he's there to provide an option / cover for Barnes. Barnes had a bad game against Norwich, but we didn't have anyone on the bench with the same direct threat to replace him with. Now we do! Plus Harvey can't play every game.

Every position in the team should have two people who can do a job there. Barnes' position was probably the only one that's not true for. Yeah our right wing options are average, but in Perez and Albrighton we do have players that can operate there.

Guess we will get our answer against Man City, but I expect Lookman to come on at about 60/70 minutes for Barnes instead of Albrighton.

Just read a few threads on Fulham's forum, seems a lot of them think he's a very good player but faded out massively as the season went on. Also a lot say his decision making is poor. Sounds very Under-esque.

It doesn't matter who we get in as a right winger. He won't be as good as Mahrez so he'll be deemed a failure. Lookman would be an upgrade on Perez and that's all we can hope for at the moment

...it shouldn't be...!!!

We have been crying out for a Right Winger for a few seasons now and our attempt to cover the positions were, Albrighton, Gray, Diabate, Ghezzal and Under, we haven't really been trying have we?

As for the Mahrez standpoint, no one on here believes we are going to replace like for like..no one is saying so!!!

At this moment we are looking at a player who has just moved into our U23s and we are clamouring to give him a run out in the position.  It is not about the big name player, just someone who plays the role and is excited to do so, as opposed to someone who carries out instructions and is unspectacularly effective in the position.

The thing is he looked flexible in terms of positions. He’s quick, good feet, low centre of gravity, good in tight spaces and seems fairly composed in front of goal. He also seems capable of creating chances.

Its down to him to make it work, and he was the only shining light in a poor Fulham side last season, fair to say he took us apart by himself pretty much at the KP last season.

Its clear Brendan wants a wide player that can be moved around. Perhaps we might even see a 4-3-3 from time to time this season.

He’s got the talent, he’s got an opportunity. Let’s hope he comes here with the right mindset and earns a permanent move.

Welcome to the club and good luck!
