FOXSE Posted 31 August 2021 Posted 31 August 2021 Given we haven't sold any key players and who we have already signed this window, we have now got easily the best squad we have ever had.
EnderbyFox Posted 31 August 2021 Posted 31 August 2021 Loves that bench doesn't he. Who can be arsed to photoshop that, really 1

The question we need to ask is, is Brooks a better right winger/ACM than Lookman? I think pace is the answer, without Barnes we are so one paced. I think Lookman gives us more of that than Brooks 3

If we do want to go 4-3-3 with Soumare or KDH in instead of Maddison then we need another fast and direct winger playing wide right. 1

Very curious about how he'll fit into our system. He'll be a great addition to our bench and treatment tables... 1
Filberts lovechild Posted 31 August 2021 Posted 31 August 2021 I think he could do well for us. As a fan base we shouldn’t shoot players down before they’ve settled in it won’t help. 3

Very curious about how he'll fit into our system. If we play him on the right we should want him to play as wide as possible, get his toes on the touchline and pull the full back out, means Ricardo can still exploit the space in between the full back and the centre back 1

So if Brooks ends up there I can't see how we couldn't have afforded him, his contract is up in the summer. I agree, I’m not sure why we haven’t taken another look at him…. Like you say if Newcastle are looking at a loan why couldn’t we? The whole right sided attacking player is causing us issues, and I don’t really know why it is? There’s enough talented wide players out there for us to take a punt on, and we seem to be getting it wrong ever since Mahrez left…

Edingleyfox Posted 31 August 2021 Posted 31 August 2021 Brooks is a decent player although he had injury problems which might have put us off a little. I'm sure we will have looked at him before. In any case I would have thought he would be too expensive for ourselves or Newcastle.
foxy boxing Posted 31 August 2021 Posted 31 August 2021 Really looking forward man, seeing him play, just hope it doesn't end up like Under!.

It's just so... unambitious. Not the sort of signing a team with serious CL aspirations makes. If we had real ambition we wouldn't look at Ayo and Kevin and say "Eh...good enough, let's strengthen the reserves." We'd worry about trying to have an 11 with a really good player at every position. 1
moseeds Posted 31 August 2021 Posted 31 August 2021 Enjoyed watching him for Fulham. Very much an Albrighton style player with some tricks. Look forward to seeing him in the blue shirt! 1
Claridge Posted 31 August 2021 Posted 31 August 2021 Watched a fair bit of Fulham last year and he was easily there best player, great signing if he stays fit 2
Popular Post dbtcity Posted 31 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 31 August 2021 (edited) A player able to beat a defender and transition from defence to attack is massively what we’ve missed on the right! We’ve became far to predictable having only Barnes as a forward thinking wide man who can do that… I genuinely think lookman will be an excellent addition, the potential link up between Riccy P and the main man is already giving me a stonner Edited 31 August 2021 by dbtcity 9
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 31 August 2021 Posted 31 August 2021 I'm not excited about this, but we must give the lad a fair chance to prove himself.

Silebyfox_89 Posted 31 August 2021 Posted 31 August 2021 As others have said, this signing helps balance the side and gives us pace and cover for Barnes without needing to change shape. Get the feeling we won't move for a £20/30 million RW unless Perez/Albrighton leave the club, this is unlikely to change soon as Perez is 30M white elephant and Albrighton has signed a new contract. Maybe in Hindsight getting Albrighton on a new contract instead of selling him to Burnley (if true), has put paid to getting a new RW on a permanent transfer. Unless one of them 2 move on i doubt we will be spending any money on a RW anytime soon. Sensible signing in Lookman and hope he performs well in a city shirt.
