Hugely disappointing to be honest, but at least we have cover for Barnes. Hopefully Rodgers can improve his output significantly, but it’s another season with Perez first choice on the right.

People are alway in denial on the money front, Sowah, Praet gone, Lookman on loan.

And surprise, surprise our net spend will be 20m or under.

So we're back in for under you say, bit surprising that

Lookman can play on the RW.

He did ok in a very poor Fulham side 4 goals and 4 assists

Pretty sure Brendan has wanted better wingers since he arrived. He spoke about more goals from this position.

2 years later....

The reason he leave in the end will be resources or lack off.

Wait, I thought we'd agreed this summer that Percy ties with the club had been cut and he was no longer itk. Fabrizio is our one and only true source, no? 🙏

I’m optimistic about this as he’s a decent enough player but it is really frustrating that we’ve been looking for a quality right winger for 4 years and yet again we’re resorting to a last minute loan with an option to buy/panic buy.

I wish people would stop this “no money bullshit” what are we paying for the training ground and stadium extensions with? Blowjobs and a packet of cheesy onion crisps?

Mismanagement of Gray?

He's had 2 decent games so far for Everton, let's not get carried away. In the 5 years he had here and the 6 months in Leverkusen he didn't pull up any trees minus the odd green patch.

Well unless Lookman comes in and scores in his first two games for us and then we'll be laughing at their mismanagement of him right?

Perez offers more IMO (unusual to find someone who doesn’t think he belongs in the bin on this forum).

Lookman is heavily right footed and predominantly plays left, but can cover right in an pinch. I’d have him behind Albrighton and Perez for the right slot. Not convinced he really has the skill set to do the drifting #10 /pressing RW role that Perez plays in our main system.  He would hug the touch line and put in crosses given he always wants to dribble and be on his right foot.

He is good cover for Barnes though, and can play a very similar role to him on the left.

You're not going to believe this, but....

I was impressed with him last season apart from his end product, but fundamentally we need pace and someone who will take players on. He gives us that plus he’s a good age.

I think he will play on RW despite being right footed.
