DezFox Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 Left wing why don’t we just sign a right winger? I don’t understand. I would imagine this is to push another deal through maybe?
Guest Lcfc82 Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 This one seems like a bit of a panic buy. We’ve not been able to get our main targets and we’re just desperate to sign someone now.
Popular Post Jobyfox Posted 30 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 30 August 2021 So, we have Gray. Think he'll never make it at PL level .... and ship him off to Germany. Then he ends up being signed by Everton. Everton have Lookman. They think he'll never make it at PL level .... and ship him off to Germany ....... Everyone aboard the merry-go-round! 5 2
Lesta Legend Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 We looked at him under Walsh, fits our usual criteria, this is the one. Didn’t @Ric Flair call this with his cryptic 👀 man? 2

Adam_LCFC Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 This guy does not even play the position we want mainly, he cuts in from the left. What an underwhelming signing, doubt he even gets in over Ayo or Albrighton 1

EnderbyFox Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 Would be a decent enough player to cover for both wings. Would be very disappointed if he is the only one we bring in though, still leaves us short of a starting RW.

Tielemans63 Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 When you wait all summer for a top notch right winger and you get an average left winger. 2

LukeFoxes Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 After last night’s social media, I knew a new name would appear today - I won’t lie, was hoping for someone better than this. However, look at last year when we all thought we might get Coutinho and it turned out we were after AMN or Chalobah. Lookman to me is a good squad player but I thought we were seriously after a starting XI right winger who can create, score goals. This lad has hardly played any time recently. Confidence, form. Yes, a fresh start might do him good but is that where we’re at? I think we’ve been out priced for our real targets and now we’re scrambling for someone who is or less quality. I hope I’m wrong and we have something up our sleeve. I just think if it was a big name in anyway, we’d have got wind of something by now with the deadline tomorrow.
Finnegan Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 Just a reminder that Nixon literally just said it was Noni before he signed a new contract and Bourne is as credible a source as Dr The Singh. They're just throwing names around to generate retweets. They have no idea who we're signing. 2 1
matty98 Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 Most goals he's scored in a season is 5 and most assists is 4. Not like he's a 20 year old either, he'll be 24 in 2 months.
escape2victory Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 If this is true then seems like Rodgers is committed to the 4-2-3-1 where he has a ‘defensive’ wide player on the right (Perez/Albrighton) and Barnes and Lookman competing for the left. So in that sense it makes sense, but personally I was hoping for a more dynamic right winger allowing us to drop the number 10 role (Maddison) and go more 4-3-3 1
FoxesWalk Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 (edited) Probably worth noting that Lookman doesn’t fit the description of the pressing forward Rodgers gave recently when asked what type of player we were looking for. His numbers are average. He would be our 2nd choice LW and probably 3rd choice RW. So it seems a bit odd unless we are planning on getting 2 players in. Edited 30 August 2021 by FoxesWalk 2
jeffschlupp Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 Old Congerton target at Celtic. Makes sense unfortunately
Grebfromgrebland Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 As long as he costs less than £2m then I'm ok with it. 2
Aleksz Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 Heard and mentioned on here weeks ago Lookman was being banded about. I think he’s really decent - but the fact we’re gonna be shoehorning him into RW is all very square pegs, round holes.
Ric Flair Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 The words Rodgers used wouldn't describe Lookman's stature in the game but then didn't he say something similar last January about an attacking midfielder of quality and it was one of the most defensive midfielders the country has ever seen in Nathaniel Chalobah that we were trying to get? 😂 Oh shit
