Wait, I thought we'd agreed this summer that Percy ties with the club had been cut and he was no longer itk. Fabrizio is our one and only true source, no? 🙏

Tanner, Ornstein and others have reported it as well.

Mismanagement of Gray?

He's had 2 decent games so far for Everton, let's not get carried away. In the 5 years he had here and the 6 months in Leverkusen he didn't pull up any trees minus the odd green patch.

He scored a goal and got 2 assists in his first 4 games for Leverkusen then nothing in their last 10 games.

Always does well for 3 or 4 games under a new manager, then nothing.

Everton will be laughing at us regarding the mismanagement of Gray and now Lookman. Embarrassing tbf

Everton's transfer dealings over the last decade don't leave them in a position to laugh at anyone. It remains to be seen how it turns out for Gray on Merseyside in the long term, but it wasn't just one manager who didn't fancy him much playing for us.

I was impressed with him last season apart from his end product, but fundamentally we need pace and someone who will take players on. He gives us that plus he’s a good age.

I think he will play on RW despite being right footed.

Barnes understudy when we do finally sign a starting right winger. Bit underwhelmed to be honest.

Perez offers more IMO (unusual to find someone who doesn’t think he belongs in the bin on this forum).

Lookman is heavily right footed and predominantly plays left, but can cover right in an pinch. I’d have him behind Albrighton and Perez for the right slot. Not convinced he really has the skill set to do the drifting #10 /RW role that Perez plays in our main system.  He would hug the touch line and put in crosses given he always wants to dribble and be on his right foot.

He is good cover for Barnes though, and can play a very similar role to him on the left.

We do exist. I just find at this stage it's not normally worth the fight saying anything on the subject anymore.

Our squad is better balanced with him in it, and that’s the most positive I can bring myself to be. 🤣

Unlikely to change our first XI when everyone is fit though.

I'm happy with this signing. It's usually the underwhelmings that do the best for us. He's quick, young, English and has something to prove. Looked good in a very poor Fulham attack last season.

I wish people would stop this “no money bullshit” what are we paying for the training ground and stadium extensions with? Blowjobs and a packet of cheesy onion crisps?

We're using the cheese n onion crisp packet as a condom, so we're playing it safe.

How? He was in the final 6 months of his contract and turned down the new one we offered him.

To answer your question: by not offering a contract for a bit-part player.

But my point is that we played that whole game, shipped him out, lost out on other targets, started the season with Ayoze…just to end up exactly where we were.

Would be an excellent signing.....

If he was Barnes's cover, and also cover for right wing.

Always feel as though we're one transfer window away from what we need.

Next summer, we need to bring in 2/3 forward players.

Wingers/wide forwards/number 10s.

Lookman definately appears to be happening.

I'm delighted we will have back up for Barnes. He's certainly good enough for that but I don't think he's our right hand side solution.

So unless we have another deal lined up which I seriously doubt, it's looking like Perez and Albrighton will be our right choice options this year.

I’m not really sure what you lot expected at this stage.

It ticks a lot of boxes if not all but you are never going to get that at this stage.

Not sure, maybe a right winger 😂

I’m optimistic about this as he’s a decent enough player but it is really frustrating that we’ve been looking for a quality right winger for 4 years and yet again we’re resorting to a last minute loan with an option to buy/panic buy.

Exactly this.

And if we don't start using Soumare and Daka, what were we thinking in terms of our budget usage?

Rather have Ricardo play right wing to be honest, I like albrighton and he is good to bring on but not a starter
