Foxestalk: we need to sign a winger

“LCFC close to signing a winger”

Foxestalk: FFS he’s shit.

The lads not even kicked a ball for us yet lol

To be fair, he's not a RWer though. He's a LWer who might have played on the right at one time or other... As far as I can see anyway.

I like him personally and a LW option to play of and when Barnes is out improves our squad but I think we were all hoping for a first choice RW to improve our starting 11.

It is absolutely mental because he's shit

He looked great for Fulham at times last season, it's good competition for Barnes but the right side really is lacking especially if Ricardo is out again.

come on peeps, one of the reasons we dropped off last season was injuries and especially the left wing. that’s our standard set up and we don’t have cover for Barnes.  We overplayed him when he had a knock and we suffered for it.

we have a progressive right side with Ricky p and Timmy bombing forward.  we can’t play both full backs doing that without a double pivot (and we hate it when Brendan does that)

so the left side side we play a winger - after careful thought this morning, it’s  ore obvious what Brendan is doing.  He isn’t going to buy someone for the right side unless he can get a stand out no risk option.  I suspect beradi would have been that if finances allowed.

If we lose Hamza, Benkovic and Praet then there is a chance we get someone else as well as Lookman, there would be space in the PL squad. Though not the EL squad.

Dorsett saying they want way more than we’re willing to pay.

Good, lets move on to signing an actual right winger instead of someone that is no upgrade to Perez/Albrighton.

I’m all for giving the lad a chance if he signs for us. Could be a smart little acquisition.

However, when I first saw this post was hot I shouted out loud “OH FFS WHY IS THIS HAPPENING”.

Only underwhelming part of this is the fact he's a LW.... He's a good player besides that

Yes this is the main issue. He'll just be an understudy to Barnes, and Perez will continue to be our first choice RW 😔

Obviously the club has a track record of doing great business - this feels like an exception. This looks like last minute panic.

If we're loaning Praet out for just £1m and paying north of £3m for Lookman - that's dreadful.

Satisfied with this, but not the dream deal I'd hoped for. Would be incredible for squad depth if we could add a quality RW too, but I guess that's pie in the sky thinking

I wish people would stop this “no money bullshit” what are we paying for the training ground and stadium extensions with? Blowjobs and a packet of cheesy onion crisps?

Yuk imagine the breath smell.

Lookman scored double the goals, last season in a relegated Fulham side, than Albrighton ever has for us in a season.....Which 3 of those seasons, we won the league and twice finished 5th.

Lookman offers far more of a goalscoring threat than Albrighton ffs.

His extra pace, will hopefully give us extra options going forward.

Lookman, whilst clearly not a first choice for me or others, can actually progress us forward, and quickly, with the ball at his feet.

Teams can press us so high, because right now, our only 'pace' threat comes from Vardy/Barnes.

We may have been looking at him for some time. He was even recommended by Steve Walsh when he moved to Everton. Clearly has talent and only time will tell whether he has the consistency but at least he has played in the premier league recently and done OK. Lets give him a chance if he comes. I think we have to be realistic with the finances we cannot afford Damsgaard or Coutinho and I doubt United will let us have Lingard etc.

I am not quite sure why we have not recruited a winger earlier but may not be the panic buy that it seems. Worth a punt as a loan with option to buy.

Agreed. I can see the crowd at the KP giving him a good 10 minutes to prove himself.

Confirmed by Percy. Interesting on Hamza too:

How concrete can Newcastle’s interest be if they’re only willing to talk within the last 48 hours of every window.

This is fine as a supplement to another player but on its own it’s ****ing underwhelming. He’s a left winger for Christ sake
