Gevans_97 Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 Disappointing that we haven’t secured a marquee RW signing again this year, but if Lookman comes in then it’s an improvement of the options we have at those positions. If Barnes starts having a good year then realistically we only need someone on the other side that’s going to get 10+ G/A involvements, and Lookman is capable of that. He’s not going to set the world alight but he’s still relatively young, BR is a manager that gets the best out of these types of players, and he’ll do better than he did in that Fulham team. I’m as disappointed as everyone that we haven’t gone out and got a Berardi/Madueke type player, but it’s clear the club haven’t got the money for it now, even if that’s come from signing Soumare/others without addressing the clear problem spot. Let’s back the lad and hope he proves some of us wrong. If it’s only a loan then it’s really not the end of the world if it doesn’t go fantastically.

Looking at the YouTube video he looks comfortable using his left foot so maybe he will be fine cutting in from the right. 4
lcfc_forever Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 Mixed feelings about this. When Walsh and Rangnick both rate the same player, it’s likely he has some quality. And he has shown in glimpses some of his clear potential. And we know Rodgers likes to work with young, skilful, pacy British players with something to prove and he has a strong record of development. But if we have been influenced by his performance against us, that is concerning as more often than not, it doesn’t work out - for every Ulloa, you at least have a Perez.
