Like when we needed a left back and we sign a right back who can play left. I hope this doesn’t happen. The only thing it could be useful for us to give Barnes something to think about. Surely we don’t just sign a left winger and not a right winger?. We have done some really good work in the transfer window in recent years but I do find some odd ones recently, out of the ordinary . Is it an arrogance on Rodgers to turn someone around and change their position as a stroke of genius?

We are now, if true, looking to bring in a left winger. Decent cover for Barnes, maybe even give him some competition. Doesn't address the right side though. Think some of you are underrating him a fair bit, he improves our XI. Just not quite as much as some of the names we’ve had would have.

But it means Perez is first choice on the right. At this point I suspect we have all misread the mood of the club because Perez is so vilified by the fans (often, but not always, unfairly IMO). They are probably happy with the 2 RW options we have (plus Ricardo), but are unhappy at only having 1LW option in Barnes, so that is what they plan to address. So depressingly, this is probably it. Brendan likes two players in each position, we already have that on the right, we don't on the left. I know Perez is the latest player the fans don't rate but there's no evidence Brendan sees it the same way. 1

Well you may well be right on Rodgers thinking, but the thinking amongst most everyone else is, that there is plenty of evidence that we as a team are desperate for a decent right winger.

He’s spent two seasons banging on about the need for the wide players to increase their goal involvements and to take the burden off Vardy. Perez isn’t doing that so it must follow that he can’t be particularly happy

Rodgers still sees Perez as our starting RW This signing would make zero sense and would piss a lot of fans off. Unless we’re getting two wingers instead, which atm seems unlikely. 2
