Hamza looking like Pele and Vestegaard passing it about like Der Kaiser

I was starting to type this earlier, then Nacho scored.

Did we change members of the Tactical Analysis terms in the off season?

We started this game by trying to play through the Crystal Palace press. That’s okay if you’ve got comfortable players on the ball, however that isn’t us throughout the team. So we lose it, then it comes straight back. We we’re causing our own issues.

He's obviously not the most refined but you cannot knock Hamza's commitment and sense of urgency. He's really put himself about, you need that sometimes.

Not when you're putting yourself about so far up the pitch that it's easy for the opposition to just pass it around you and then you've left Tielemans isolated and on his own in the middle.

There's a time and a place where Hamza is great. I think when we're in a low block and he's in a 3 with more freedom to really roam then he can cause havoc closing down and bothering the opposition.

But in games like this that are stretched a lot more vertically, his complete lack of positional discipline can be so costly and that's before he starts giving the ball away.

There's definitely benefits to his style and his energy but they're not really well utilised playing as a midfield 2.

Confidence is the single most important thing in football.

Well that and the ability to kick a ball
