I read this earlier and I'd be genuinely be interested to hear the thoughts of those with colour blindness on whether this makes a difference / is a gamechanger.

Thank god Tigers play in red and white.

I hate the fact that Ireland and Wales have played in the same colour kits for over a century

Look, joking aside, I get that it's a problem for colour blind people, but is this really necessary?

Just more political correctness.

I don't intend to offend some of you who have colour blindness, but it's been like this forever.

Why does the fact it’s been an issue forever mean we shouldn’t do anything to tackle it now?

Because everything has to please everyone nowadays. If not, someone will be offended and that's not acceptable.

I'm not playing down colourblindness, not at all, but where does all this shit stop?

Are we banning snooker?

Or flipped on it’s head, why does the fact it’s not been an issue up until now (with thousands of colour blind people having no doubt coped just fine) mean that we need to do anything to tackle it now?

Yes please struggle to tell the difference if teams both play in shades of blue, and sometimes teams in red or green are hard to see properly if they don’t have different shorts and if the picture quality and contrast are shit.

Never met or known of anybody with actual colour blindness to the point where its an actual issue in distinguishing actual completely different colours. Think it's a myth. So yeah, ave that.

Or put another way, does the fact that colour blind people have been getting by, identifying teams by their different coloured socks if they can't tell the difference between shirts, mean that they ought to continue getting by rather than take this easy step to help them?  Colourblindness isn't, by and large, a life changing condition, but it's a nuisance.  Anything that can easily make it better at little or no inconvenience?  Do it.  Wales can still play in red, except when playing away to Ireland.

It's not as if football clubs have any reluctance to change to away kits.  Most clubs will wear their second or even third kit at away games regardless of colour clash, because they want to sell more away kits.  So why would they object to changing to an away kit just to help the colourblind?

I can never tell the difference between the Bib colours in the warm up. I also play at St Margaret’s and often see another game next to me where they all seem to wear the same colour bibs. Have never had an issue watching a senior level game that I can recall.
Lars Bohinen used to not play in games with an orange ball as he couldn’t see it

I’m colour blind. I always see Villa and West Ham kits as blue for example. However, if two teams are playing in different colours, even if I am confused of the colour, I don’t get mixed up. I can work out who each player is playing for. So no, I don’t see the point in this and I don’t think it’s a game changer. Nor would it improve my enjoyment of the game (as my colourblindness has never hindered my enjoyment before).

This is a weird rule change to me.

I think it's affecting several of our players this season.

Mrs. FFF never watches the matches with me as she has no interest in football  but did see some of the Palace game.

After about 10 minutes she turned to me and asked quite innocently, sincerely and without any sense of irony, 'I thought you were supposed to pass it to your own players?'

Not for you but there are many types of colour-blindness.

I'm surprised by so many blazae reactions in here.

It's hardly political correctness wanting the game to be accessible for everyone, is it?

Seems such an obvious thing to do. Good idea. Colour blindness is really prevalent in men (up to 8% in uk)

Something so easy can help people enjoy sport without affecting anyone else. Not political correctness at all, it just helping other people without affecting anyone else. Like saying you have a problem with the wheelchair section at the KP (very odd though process)

Assume responses above are just poor instinctive responses and when people think about it; they can see it’s obviously a good thing to make sport more inclusive
