Personally I think we should give hamza minutes to keep his value up if anything. If he can get 5 games in by january 31st we could get a nice cheque form newcastle.

...I  would think that option is now clearly off the table!!!

He has been pretty unlucky regarding going out on loan, nice to see we are giving him some game time.

I think the only person in the world of football interested in getting Hamza was Steve Bruce so that ship might have sailed although I bet he could improve that $hite Norwich side

I'd improve that $hite Norwich side and my footballing skills are very limited.

I got panned once for suggesting Barnes is a striker, but to me goalscoring is his thing. Yes we have Vardy, Daka and Iheanacho but JVs age and injuries will give him plenty of opportunities to show what he can do. He is similar in build to Lineker and just as quick so he has the physical attributes.

His thing is picking up the ball from the halfway line & running with it as he has close control, strong build & speed, he doesn't yet have the natural instincts of a striker

That is true but he has already shown he is good for about ten goals a season when he has been a regular that is. That is a goal every four games or so. He needs to demonstrate that he can take that to fifteen before he can be considered a PL quality striker. His conversion rate is below that of Vardy and Iheanacho so he needs to be more clinical. He doesn't have the defensive skills of a lot of wide players which I am pretty sure annoys Rodgers so moving more centrally would make that less important.

You say that but if they are scrapping relegation they might need a few stop gap players to keep them up. He could be a short term fix for them

...you would have to be paying him £500k a week for him to be crazy enough to consider such a short term view in regards to his career!!!

I’m sure he won’t look at it like that. He’s think he would be able to lock down a place in a side about to have good things coming. Just because it would be obvious from the outside I’m sure a player wouldn’t always see it.

plus I’m sure a nice 3/4 year contract would suit him nicely even if he is dropped

Covid has put paid to me going tomorrow.

Is this being shown anywhere in the world so that I could theoretically watch it if I had such means?

Its being shown around the world, you should get a stream quite easily.

Let young Daka take it to them.I like Lookman and Barnes either side.KDH would be good with Mendy and Choudry holding. If needed bring cavalry on in the second half.

I dont think ive cared so little about a game since the Charity Shield

A home tie, chance to progress and get some minutes into the legs of players yet to feature greatly so far, and see also what players like Lookman and KDH can do. Looking forward to it.

Looking at the training video there are plenty of regular first teamers missing today isn’t there? Unless that video was done yesterday when they were in for recovery as didn’t spot anyone that started the game Sunday?

Barnes needs a huge performance, I feel he's heading for the doldrums if not as this new system leaves him in no man's land. At least Maddison when he was crap would always get chances in any system being a creative central midfielder but Barnes skill set is prohibited and he's gone from being arguably our most important player in a 4-2-3-1 to not playing any minutes in the last 3 games. Unheard of.

True, but wouldn’t surprise me if the 3-5-2 bites the dust after the next defeat

I get the impression it’s something he’s stumbled into out of desperation to shore up the defence, rather than a grand plan…

Also will be interesting to see what happens when we have a fully fit Justin back in the side

I think I'd rest as many as possible but play Maddison.

So would I, but give players getting up to speed a run out, the league is far more important

Possibly but he kept it for long spells before.

I'm fascinated to see what he does when Justin and Ndidi are back fit. We've 5 full backs in Justin, Thomas, Bertrand, Castagne and Ricardo. I can't help but feel he'll be tempted to stick Justin as one of the 3 CB's to support one wing back but I might be wrong. There's an argument that Thomas and Bertrand won't even make the match day squads and KDH will struggle too which is a real shame.

We have been winning, but still look shaky at the back,
