at last!

ive been meaning to mention this but forgot

we HAVE been over achieving. - it’s not even a debate

does that mean we should accept being average?  Of course not

does that mean that we will undoubtedly return closer to the average from time to time ?  Of course

our current malaise is not something that should be a surprise within a professional sporting context

it is not being accepted - but the fans booing the players/staff for not performing as well as they did past two seasons will not help everyone recover their form and mojo

Just hope that "returning to the average" doesn't mean finishing 5th from bottom for the next two years and exiting the cup in the first match!

I also believe that the tag of "top players" is pretty meaningless, it was not long ago that Soyuchu was being targetted by Real i seem to remember and of course Madders was def off to Real Arsenal... These are our superstars? Basically average players having a golden few months but unable to sustain it or do the business when the pressures on... IMHO.

.....we have a team containing high class players....!!!

We are at present not performing and should we have sold these players last summer, we would have been looking at £80m upwards, that was their market price. We are not a flash in the pan outfit, we have a situation where the Managers vision is not reciprocated by his squad of players. These players have not become poor overnight or in the last 6 months, we have a manager with a demoralised squad, and I think the only thing that will resolve this issue will be the players having a bigger say as to how we play as a club. Chris Hughton did it with Newcastle, it worked and it got them up to the Premier League.

There's this weird thinking in football about constant growth. You can't. Not even the big sides with unlimited money can do that. We competed in the top 4 for 99.9% of the last two seasons. We won the FA cup. Yes that is overachieving for us. We are not a top 4 side. A top 4 side buys our players when they've come to form (Chilwell, Magauire, Mahrez etc) we don't buy theirs. They spend 80+mil on players and pay them half a mil a week. We don't do that. Our three main strikers are a ManC reject, a young prospect from the Austrian league and old man Vardy. I love them all! Our "level" if we're lucky is the next tier down. So to have spent two seasons essentially in the tier above means yes we were over achieving. This isn't being negative or defeatist, it's just reality. It's the reason when we over achieve we can revel in it and say we're missing it up and scaring the dominance of the big teams.

Nobody is saying where we're currently situated in the league and how we're currently playing is our actual level and we should be happy with it. I've not heard Rodgers say it, any of the players, nobody on here.... nobody. So can people stop saying it like they have? I genuinely don't understand what the objective is lying about it.

Ok, now I've accepted man u aren't poaching our manager, I accept your analysis and will try to be positive again.

It’s clearly a back 4, he’s even lined them up as a back 4 lol

OK, just as we're just getting Armarty into some sort of regular centre half action, we'll suddenly shove him at right back to flumax him again 😂 brilliant. Would it not just be easier to leave Armarty out and have Castagne, a proper right back at right back and Thomas, a proper left back at left back?

Guaranteed Ayoze is playing being at the press conference

It’s not like he can do any worse than the embarrassing product we’ve been producing.

What would help us , would be Rodgers coming out before the game and declare Iam staying with the foxes and I will not be going to United . That would be a great first step .

I think that's immaterial really, it's not about past appearance statistics on paper is it. He may have been doing very well imo at centre half lately (his position for Ghana), but he is to us a squad player after all and not really first choice anywhere. He's also not played at right back for quite a while and those previous appearances were spread out over quite a period of time and only now is he playing with some degree of confidence.

Castagne however, is a proven Belgian international at right back so, in a let's face it, massive game in a number of ways, who do you want to play in that position, a squad player who could do a job but not add much at all offensively, or, a proven far better defender who would also be able to add considerably to an attack against a team more than likely going to sit back?

Hmmm.. Quite an achievement by BR to finally get people to "appreciate" Ayo as a player, simply make everyone else look dreadful by chopping and changing, playing people out of their best positions and overcomplicating things!

What the hell has it come to when "he cant do any worse" is a valid and correct comment!
