Hope he doesn't read foxes talk. What's he done that's so offensive to people still to this day anyway?

There's lots of strong feelings on here about him.

He abused his position when Pearson was in charge, they never liked each other and he used his exposure to try and stoke up as much trouble for him as possible.

But yes I’ve heard he’s had a shit time of it recently and as much as I can’t stand him probably deserves to be left alone to deal with personal issues.

I park off the narborough rd for matches.  So I am in the car within about 20 mins of the final whistle (I never leave early)

In the car we listen to radio leicester... to see if our own positive and negative comments are reflected by others.

Radio leicester usually has limited time for this (lord know why they cant have another 30 mins... maybe they have some easy listening to go to?).

I like piper... he says it as he sees it... and how the players will be feeling. He is not kowtowing to the club for access like previous contributors.

My complaint is how few calls they take.  The ones they do are often regulars.  Some are just superficial drivel  and some spend too long making simple points.

Why do they keep including a highlights package... their listeners have just heard 90mins... or are fans returning from the kp?

They need to whistle through more shorter calls and have more time (they have to take the Rodgers interview... which is usually calory free).

Personally I think it feels as though they have extended the gap between themselves and local press. As if it’s almost above them. For some folk (like my dad), it’s their only official line.

Journalists like Jordan Blackwell are not the problem. The club had no issue giving Rob Tanner or James Sharpe a bit of access. Since covid and seagrave, it’s disappeared

He’s always came across as quite smug to me. When Puel was in charge he was a proper happy clapper who wouldn’t say anything bad or question bad defeats.

It’s a matter of record on here that I’m not a Stringer fan but I really don’t see any merit in further debating him on here at a time when he is apparently unwell. As for the present football coverage by RL, well that’s fair game.

Think this season they’ve managed to sneak a couple under the radar with players (Dewsbury-Hall and Vestergaard) who likely had no idea it wasn’t the done thing. When they got the Dewsbury-Hall interview it was a very “oh my god a player is willing to talk” type of scramble to cut over to the interviewer.

I think the players should be speaking to local radio though. As much as the standard can be a bit poor at times (OPA is a horrendous interviewer), they know the club and what’s actually happening with the team and have somewhat of an insight into the fan sentiment. They’ll ask questions that national journalists won’t even know to ask.

Respected it as a player boycott, but it’s probably more a press officer managed thing now.

Football will be much poorer if club employees are the only people in the sport allowed to ask questions of the players, managers and those behind the scenes.

Pretty much entirely this - anyone who has witnessed the post-match "analysis" from club mouthpieces Gerry Taggart and Matt Elliot after we've been royally humped can testify too, I'm sure. It's like bloody North Korean news.

The senior players haven't spoken to RL in years, I'm not sure any of us really know the reason why TBH (apart from perhaps @UpTheLeagueFox, who rightly won't divulge). I think the Pearson and perhaps Vardy incidents may have contributed to it at the time, but I can't imagine the players holding a grudge about it all these years later. It doesn't make any sense. I think it's more likely a case of our senior players picking and choosing their media commitments (lets face it, they don't do many) and they don't think it's worth their time.

As others have said, there have been several (usually younger) squad members interviewed at length on match days just this season, so there's definitely not a mandate from the club. There probably never was.

The Merc is cack, but Blackwell is good as a contributor on RL. Rob Tanner is also a worthwhile listen too, and they both seem to have genuine insight. The Football Forum is good. So is the post-match podcast to an extent - although RL seem terrified about calling out bad performances. It's a little hard to listen to them waxing lyrical about aspects of the match when we've obviously been dogshit.

In Stringer's absence (who is a good journalist and presenter IMO) RL would benefit from a bit of a staff role reshuffle. Mike McCarthy is woefully underutilised and would be best qualified to speak to the manager, for example.

Mike McCarthy recently left Radio Sheffield where he presented 'Praise or Grumble'. This is basically their equivalent of the Monday night fans forum but is on every night of the week.

He is pretty good and a nice guy as stopped and chatted Leicester with him a few times in the street up here.

I swear the bloke who works for LCTV is a robot that gets wheeled out of a cupboard to do interviews and then but back in to charge.

Brendan could go on a 50 game losing streak and he'd still ask the same mundane, pointless and safe questions.

This is so true. He must be the most monotonous bloke I've ever listened to in my life. Had a complete charisma bypass.

No insight of the boycott, but I think there's some good points RE: local media. I haven't listened to Radio Leicester for years now, in fact the last game I think I listened to  was our 5-2 win over Carlisle in 2013. No interest in the ranting of other fans on the Football Forum etc anymore.

Leicester Mercury, as we have discussed at length on here several times, is in the gutter, and unfortunately means I've no interest in engaging. However this mainly comes about because we are "big time" now, and there's no real need to utilise these outlets anymore? When you have insiders our media that can tell you stuff, I genuinely don't need RL or LM.

However as has been mentioned this could well change in the future.

As for LCFCtv, well that's genuinely something I wouldn't touch with a 10ft barge pole. The only thing it's been useful for is live streams of any friendlies. Why on earth would I want to watch former players say only nice things, or clichéd platitudes when it's the club mouthpiece? Genuinely staggering that people utilise this as a reliable outlet. Unless there was a miraculous editorial shift, where saying what you really want to goes, it's just a propaganda arm.

This, sadly.

I feel a bit sorry for them as it's not for a lack of trying - but it's devoid of any sort of critical analysis or insight and it doesn't make for good viewing. They don't get many eyeballs for this reason, I imagine.

It's weird to watch good pundits, and huge fans of the club in Elliott and Taggart tip-toeing around the elephant in the room when we've been absolutely abysmal for the sixth game in a row.

As for the presenter... As far as I can tell he's just some random Yorkshireman they've plucked from nowhere. Is there nobody in Leicester qualified for this job? Surely they didn't hire him because they wanted someone impartial...

I wondered what happened to him because I'm sure I heard him on RL other week when I was driving to one of our home games.

I'm not too fond of his style of broadcasting.  But some of the character assassinations he's been the subjected to via Foxestalk are more disgraceful than anything he has done regarding reporting on the club.

In the crazy world of Foxestalk your story is actually credible at Tesco but if you'd mentioned Morrisons it would have been almost certainly rejected as a wind up!
