Whilst this is far from a great team it's not awful. It would look like the sort of team that would be battling relegation in the Premier League, which is the situation Watford find themselves in.

Ben Nelson is the big question mark, but let's all get behind him if he plays. There should be no pressure on his shoulders as these are extraordinary circumstances we find ourselves in.

The bigger worry for me are the league games this week, many of which will have even more U23's playing in them. I'd expect Kasey McAteer and Vontae Daley-Campbell to play this week at some point.

But 3 of those are out - KDH, Thomas and Castagne. The team tomorrow will be staggering.

surely if we only have 9 fit players then the Everton game will get called off?

I know the game wont tomorrow but no way we fit the league quota as it stands

I bet JJ is looking forward to captaining the U23's tomorrow.... and by U23's I mean a bunch of 15 year olds lol

How dare you talk about our new senior team like that.

Thomas and Soumare won't play. Castagne and KDH are doubts.

Are you sure?  I have only seen rumours about these.  Is there any concrete information?

Thomas, KDH, Castagne and Soumare should be back for that so it will be touch and go.

In all seriousness though i'm surprised the U23 game is going ahead. Because we will need at least 8 players off them to fill the XI and bench

I've just seen that news from Tanner.

Grab your kit Flair, you've been selected to play as left back tomorrow!

That's a relief. He has the potential to be a real menace!

I bet that's the first time someone has said that! Genius!

So I make it something like this?

Ward

Daley-Campbell Vestergaard Nelson Albrighton

Choudhury Tielemans

Lookman McAteer Barnes

Pérez

Substitutes: Jakupovic, Castagne, Braybrooke, Maddison, Alves

Short of 4 on the bench based on the U23s in the training pictures. I'd not want to risk Tielemans but don't see a midfield including both McAteer and Braybrooke.

Their next three PL games are Newcastle, Burnley and Norwich. I think we will see a full scratch eleven from them

Fair play them. They'll probably see all these games as winnable.

Currently 4/1 too

The last game Daley-Campbell played he looked like a deer in headlights, I'm thinking were in for a bit of an embarrassment tomorrow. Not normally the glass is half empty type of person but even the most optimistic of people would raise an eyebrow for tomorrow's game

Probably not a popular opinion but I’d just play a reserve team , throw the game. And try and get everyone out of the firing  line as those rescheduled games are going to bite us this January…
