Scotch Posted 5 January 2022 Posted 5 January 2022 Fab saying there has been contact with 3 PL clubs, Villa being one. I would imagine Newcastle are certs to be another with the third being Everton or West Ham are my guess. 1

Not really, but he is a small, lightweight player and the heavy Spanish tackling is probably catching up with him. He remains highly skilled but at the price he charges its not worth the risk.
Buzzell Posted 5 January 2022 Posted 5 January 2022 Would love him here. He’s a seriously talented player who’s done very well at this level. Will never happen though. 1
Pliskin Posted 5 January 2022 Posted 5 January 2022 Sounds like Villa are the one. I wouldn’t be surprised at all, he will have a great deal of respect for Stevie G, and I imagine Brendan will probably have a word too. I’m surprised Arsenal aren’t all over it.
goody2028 Posted 5 January 2022 Posted 5 January 2022 Villa favourites at the minute. We’re not in the running according to Sky.
An Sionnach Posted 5 January 2022 Posted 5 January 2022 Its the same old story , he is on at least 10 million a year. Are Villa prepared to match that?

Doubt anyone taking him on loan is going to be paying his full wages. Barcelona would be relieved to get even a percentage of his wages paid off at the minute, given their financial position. It's either that, or he sits in their reserves getting paid for doing sod all for the rest of the season. 1

Too early for Arsenal they wait to deadline day... just so they can dominate Sky Sports News.
BigWesMorgan Posted 5 January 2022 Posted 5 January 2022 Villa will be getting very excited but the truth is he's a billion billion miles away from the player he used to be. He'll do ok though. 1

Fox1980 Posted 5 January 2022 Posted 5 January 2022 I would give Eriksen a contract, we have been linked before and he’s desperate to prove himself by the sounds of it. Maybe get him on a pay as u play and everyone’s a winner 2

There is many fans of other teams who admire our owners for how they run our club and i for one love the fact we won league and FA cup by not spending like the rest of the league do. Fully agree! I don’t want us splashing stupid amounts! Wouldn’t change our owners for any others 1

Fox92 Posted 5 January 2022 Posted 5 January 2022 I'd imagine Villa are favourites to get him because of Gerrard? 1

It’s heartbreaking. My mother told me that I’m dead to her now and set fire to all my baby photos. I have shamed her. I have shamed myself.” “It’s hard,” said the 29 year-old. “I spent most of the day crying. One day my children will be old enough to Google me. How will I explain to them that their daddy played for Aston Villa?” “Will they ever forgive me?” he added, his voice trembling and eyes reddening. 5

Clever Fox Posted 5 January 2022 Posted 5 January 2022 This looks like a mercenary move to me . While he was a good player a few years out teaches you that playing isn't everything. Money is more important to some.

With all the money he has accrued, just going out there, to a club that is close to your heart and bring them on in the best way you can, would be a better way to see out your career. Why wait until you are past your best and on your last legs to look to enjoy the reason you came into the game. 1
