.....with a 4-3-3 then Nacho would be better as the "false 9" and not the furthest forward!!!

In a 4-2-3-1, neither Nacho or Daka performs effectively as lone strikers. Daka as we have seen does not trouble the oppositions backline and they get an easy ride, he is easily marshalled 3 versus 1. Nacho wants to drop into the #10 position, playing with his back to goal and can link the play. As a lone striker (being the furthest Forward), it is not what he wants to do, but we keep trying it for some reason.

I suspect Rodgers will want to match up with Rennes or adopt a defensive formation and attempt to play with a back three, in order to control the game. It is a go to move by Rodgers, who is a naturally cautious manager in these situations.

On this basis then, who do you think is the better number 10 Maddison or Iheanacho?

Losing Vardy for the 2 games against these is a massive blow. He would have been a real danger to an attacking team like Rennes who are likely to play a high line. But the way this season has gone it's no big surprise tbh.:(

Just saw the Vardy news, pretty gutting when we need to go all out to win this cup, he was looking pretty sharp on his comeback.

Over to Nacho and/or Daka I guess. At least we have fantastic depth up top.

....Maddison is a natural #10, but as a false 9 that is the position that Nacho will be picking up!!!

The argument for Maddison would be either him or Youri in the midfield, in a 4-3-3, we are not playing with a #10.  In a 4-2-3-1 with a #10 and a Vardy up top on his own, it works.

Well 8% on a £450 season ticket certainly starts to push it that way. They keep using the 380 because that's the cheapest. Please don't be fooled. There was some interesting things spoken about at the FCC certainly Leeds fanbase got mentioned a lot and the club clearly don't want any of that mentality about if they can help it.

8% on a £350 ticket is still well short of £500.

Just because the club don't want us acting like Leeds fans doesn't mean they're trying to force out working class supporters.

Do we know the social make up of Leeds fan?

This is so demoralising.  It was hard enough with a fully fit squad but no Vardy? Which random diety have we pissed off cause this is now getting ridiculous

Would quite like a 442 diamond with Maddison in behind Ian/Daka and Barnes. But would be risky given that we rarely play it.

So more likely we'll see a 433 with one of Ian or Daka starting up top and Maddison on the right of the front 3. Hope that JJ or Ricardo are fit enough to start at RB.

my son and I have been watching quite a bit of much lower tier football both in Leicestershire and Nottingham (he's at Uni there). At £7 and £5 it's certainly cheaper and to be honest, we really enjoy the match day experiences. Some players are fitter and more skilful than others but there's always considerable passion and a bit of blood and thunder.

Much of whether people give up their season tickets or not will understandably relate to their personal financial circumstances and they are shortly going to change dramatically too and not for the better. Supporters are normal people and many will understandably, consider whether they can justify the cost of their ticket per se or not, but others may also, like with other commodities, ask themselves whether for the sacrifices they make, are they actually enjoying themselves and getting value for money or, has going to watch Leicester City or any other Premiership club, just become a habit that could be replaced?

There isnt one household bill that wont go up this year so the luxury that is football will just be too much for some.

If my DD for my season ticket goes above the £50 a month mark it will be time that i hand it back i think.

I cant be the only one either...

Agree with you both, prioritizing spending isn’t easy.  My folks both worked, and saved enough to pay over half my college costs.  That was their priority.  Pro sports were not in the budget.  My dad took me to a baseball game each season; no Browns or Cavs.  A season ticket would have been unthinkable.  Yet -- obviously -- I was lucky!

Those who can buy their families season tickets to one of the world’s high-end sports leagues -- albeit with sacrifices elsewhere -- are doing OK.

LCFC are bumping prices in a year when their costs have probably risen 10%.  If that seems too much for you, you are wise to reconsider your priorities.  Good on ya.  Too few of us have that wisdom to make unpleasant choices.

What I don’t get is others blaming the club.  Their intention is to balance the books, not drive you all out.

They dont have to do it at all, they earn millions and millions of pounds a year through tv revenue which increases year on year and can pay dogshit squad players like Vestegaard 70k a week. In Germany season tickets are less then 200 euros a season. A price increase is absolutley disgusting and hopefully if they announce one our supporters will group together and protest

Absolutley disgusting if they do. The amount of money Premier League clubs receive from TV money and they’d have the cheek to raise prices when the rest of society is on its knees. Absolutley no justification for it at all then pure and utter greed, they can truly get ****ed

You may well be a citizen who would rather go down in the mines than consider public benefits.  Yet you insist that TV and sponsorships cover all cost increases, so your ticket price (in real-money terms) can drop for several years in a row  You want something for nothing, subsidized by somebody with more money.  Hmm.

Remind me please. How long is it anticipated that Ricardo will be out?

I'm fairly certain no one has any idea, I take everything we are told by BR on injuries, in general with a pinch of salt.

I’d personally rather see us play Maddison as a number 10 behind any of our number 9s, supported by a left sided attacker, being either Barnes or Lookman, and Albrighton as the right sided attacker. I’m sick of playing square pegs in round holes.

- Lovro Majer at midfield. He is a doubt like Maddison, was injured over the week-end but is apparently fit to play. If he starts, he'll be the one directing the way Rennes plays. Is a passing genius straight out of the "Yougoslavian" school of passing geniuses. He isn't particularly fast or strong, he doesn't look "special" but he is deadly. He joined Rennes in September, take a look at his highlights since, it's pure old-fashioned football porn (his match against Lyon was... something else)
