Honest question...

Do you really think he'd leave Burnley for us?

I'm 99% positive he wouldn't.

Agreed.  Kompany will feel that he's at a club on the rise, he wouldn't leave them for one in disarray and free-fall.

Dyche is regrettably the most realistic option that gives us a hope of staying up, but I don't think it matters because it's clear the board is going to do nothing where Rodgers is concerned.

Jesus, have we dropped so much that we couldn't tempt a manager away from Burnley? He could keep us up, have money/squad rebuild with one of the finest training academies around.

Have money?

Do you know something the rest if us don't?

Why would he walk away from a squad he's got playing great football, nailed on to be in the Premier League next year, to a club that is an utter shambles, likely to be in the Championship next year?

It's the wage bill that's the problem, and with 7 players all coming into their last 6 months then its going to give you some room to buy.

With it being reported Dyche was at the game yesterday, he must either be trolling or he is expecting a call. He might keep us up but isn't the kind of manager to really go places and achieve great things.

If you look at Cooper after their goals the passion is still huge there. We've lost that. Probably comes with first season in the top flight too but we need a manager that's got some emotional investment outside of financially. Simeone type manager.

Dyche lives in Nottingham. I don't think he'd rock up here, more likely to go to Everton

He lives in South Northampton. It would be a dreamy commute up the M1.

What Kompany has done at Burnley with the style of play change and the types of players he's recruited have done Sean Dyche absolutely no favours in the sort of football he plays.

Now he can defend himself all he likes about he did what was necessary but at best he's a basic and uncomplicated old fashioned coach with fantastic motivation skills but we'd absolutely hate his style after a while.

It all depends just how badly the future looks for our club. I don't mean in regard to staying up this season, but even if we do stay up, just how bad are we financially. If there's no way of solving that in the short to medium term then we've really got to ask questions of what on earth is the point in our current ownership continuing with us. But let's say they have a plan but it requires a few years on pain and anguish but we simply have to be in the PL at all costs (ironically without spending much) then I can see why Dyche is the logical choice.

Make no mistake, relegation will be an absolute bloodbath for this club. Not only because we have the next couple of years TV money owed in the way of loans to that Australian bank but we have the EFL who will be watching us like a hawk in regard to finances after the stuff they've come at us with from 2013/14.

The decisions our board have taken in the last 12-18 months continue to baffle me and I'm going to presume for my own sanity that as long as we stay up that the future of ours can be rectified with a progressive and confident manager and a reshuffle in some other staff. The rebuild of the squad is happening regardless.

I'm not quite desperate enough for Sean Dyche, but we might well now be in a period where we change manager 2-3 times in the next 12-18 months so it's hard to have confidence in how this club navigates back to being a force in this league, if that's even possible.

We need a manager who has a track record for hitting the ground running and we need a manager with a edge to him, one whom isn't afraid to be confrontational in his pursuit of fighting for this club to achieve its goals. Rodgers has been brilliant in a period that was less required but then down the stretch in pressure situations his approach and style is what contributed to our mental weakness.

It's down to the board to have the vision to sell their plans to the prospective new manager. Right now it's hard to believe any prospective new manager would believe or have confidence this place is a promising club to come in to with the financial backing to build a team that can hit the heights we've done previously. However, I repeat what I've said above, none of this makes any sense if we've suddenly got minimal funds to compete at this level and that's the case for years to come. Somethings got to give, there must be a plan. This sustainability that's been repeatedly talked about by Top is all well and good but we've hit a huge bottleneck in the way we operate and its severely impacted us on the field to the point it all could be for nothing if we're relegated and possible oblivion.

Arne Slot is the manager I crave most but mid season, in a crisis its logical to look at available managers and the two who I think we'd stand a chance of getting is Domenico Tedesco who reminds me very much of De Zerbi. Things went horrible at Leipzig but he started brilliantly there at a time when they'd lost the plot and I think he'd stand a chance of starting well here as he's a motivator and his mentality is tough. He was unbelievable at Schalke too.

The other tough and reliable choice would be Marcelino, vastly experienced and has that mix of improving teams quickly as well as giving them an identity. He's passionate and I think the fans would identify with him quite quickly. He's a decent track record promoting youth as well. He's one whom has the ability to fall out with owners but I don't mind that, I think being a manager is so finely poised that when there's isn't harmony between the ranks that changes have to be made. This belief that managers need to be at clubs for years to build something is an utter myth, you either achieve or you don't and wasting time with misplaced compassion and belief is every bit as destructive in football as being too inpatient.

Gallardo would be an interesting punt but I do wonder if we'd be the sort of car crash he'd really want to be involved in right now, he will get a very good project at a club whom he can further his reputation quickly and I'd not be surprised tobsee him in at Atletico if Simeone leaves this summer.

I am not sold on the Ginger Mourinho - not as a long term option at least - but I could see him motivating the players, organising us and ensuring all knew what their roles were - which I think is a current failing of BR.

I agree tho you would hope there are more inspiring options for us.

Bielsa. At least we would be exciting to watch and the players would run. This is just a suggestion to get the fans excited about watching the team again. We need an exciting brand of football.

Generally though, I want a forward thinking appointment and somebody who views us as a great opportunity. There’s lots of young coaches out there who would see us as a fantastic club and a real opportunity to showcase what they can do. I couldn’t think of anything worse than Benetiz, Nuno, Dyche.

As we missed the opportunity to get Alguacil last summer, just break any FFP rules like all other teams do, bring in Tuchel and give him the money for a proper rebuild the upcoming summer. Unless we're unofficially bankrupt and we don't know it.

Absolutely zero chance Tuchel would come to Leicester.

Yeah, alright Sean:whistle:, see you Monday lol

"I’ve also been to Forest a few times to have a look at them," he said. "But it’s not down to scoping anything out as such.

"It’s more to learn and see how other people and coaches do things. It’s only in the last couple of months that I’ve perhaps been having a closer look at what is in the marketplace.

"I can’t seem to go to watch Forest without people thinking there is an ulterior motive. I live in Nottingham though and they happen to be my closest team."

Kompany making Dyche look even worse than many already believed. Dyche does the siege mentality thing well but it's never going to attract the kind of players that Premier League successes are built on. He will grind out results though.
