😂😂😂 how many times we heard that under Rodgers and we’ve not actually won?

He’s done here.

It’s is though, we missed loads of chances that’s something he can’t control and done out of a goal by VAR.

Rodgers just confirmed the Wilf for Youri sub was tactical.

Absolute melt.

Isn’t that just as simple as Wilf wins header more?  :dunno:

I think even the most ardent of Chelsea fans would say we deserved something from that.

Perfectly good goal disallowed, hit the bar, Vardy with two efforts he should have tucked away, good shot from Barnes well saved, two good efforts from Kel.

Doesn't spell embarrassing against a top quality side with better reserves to bring on, notwithstanding ten men.

Edit: Forgot the Castagne effort.

Yeah but you say that like they didn’t miss any decent chances. Ward actually made a couple of top class saves…

I'm not saying we dominated, or played the best or they dominated and played the best.

I'm just saying I don't think it was embarrassing, and I think those chances bear that out.

Robbed of a point by Tierney....never a foul on Mendy for the disallowed goal 1st half.  What's bloody var doing.  Vardys best days behind him I'm afraid 2 sitters missed today.  We deserved a point but give anyone a 2 goal lead you are asking for trouble.  We also hit the bar.

So much easier to play under no pressure, when being 2-0.

Lack of balls to take the game by the scruff of the neck at 0-0

It's a pet hate of mine, seeing a team start playing well and with freedom when the game is gone. Like being 3-0 down to Man City, getting back in the game and then go on to lose when we're at the business end of the game.

That was my take. We were about to take a corner, and generally getting crosses in.

The possession stat  after they went down to ten men for a five minute period (72/28 for them) was maddening ….

we bottled the man advantage and looked to be waiting for half time to wait to be told how to take the game

Look guys, that was against 10 men for most of the match end of, its often hard to score cos the depleted team are likely to defend deep but to concede 2 is simply pathetic!

Whether we had/made/missed chances is beside the point.

We lost to a depleted side with10 men who looked poor against Leeds!

We are nailed on bottom 3 unless the clown goes ☹️

8 good chances missed by my reckoning

Just a thought,  When a striker goes several games without getting any scoring chances then he loses his touch/confidence and it takes a few more games of getting chances before he gets back into the groove.  I wouldn't assume yet that Vardy's lost his mojo.  Our other goalscorers are suffering too.

Sounds like excuses for every other game thats been lose or thrown away. Its boring now.

In isolation today was alright, we looked competitive at 11 v 11 and whilst we ended up losing 2-1 once it went to 10 v 11 we had a goal harshly ruled out and at least 3 or 4 great chances we didn’t take,

The thing is that the reverse could have been said in many games last season. It’s hard to think of more than 2-3 games where we were hard done by last year yet there were probably a dozen or more where we got more than we deserved. This is what happens when your luck is out and confidence is low. We saw the same things under Puel towards the end, we made loads of chances away at Spurs in his penultimate game and were well on top in his final game against Palace but the (and as many of us have repeatedly said - unsustainable) long-term finishing outperformance disappears at a time of low morale.

Rodgers has to go, the sooner the better and for reasons that have been done to death so I won’t rehash them. But today’s performance in isolation wasn’t bad, we probably should have won the game.

All these stats flying around to try and justify another typical away performance but missing out the most shocking, conceding two goals against a side with 10 men.

Well I actually thought that’s the best we’ve played in about 12 months.

I know we lost, and I know they had 10 men, but at least we showed attacking intent (unlike Roma away) at least we moved the ball quickly, at least we were easy on the eye during those times. We actually looked good for large periods, not the usual insomnia curing pass fest that we serve up. We might’ve been bad today in peoples eye, but fcuk me it was a hell of a lot better than the usual pile of w*nk that people on here seem to perversely enjoy.

Obviously we conceded twice to a side with 10 men, but today was proof that another manager will be able to get these very capable players playing much closer to the standard we expect.

Off you trot Brendan

Great post. With some improvements and a new manager this team is capable of a top half finish. We are going to have a bad few weeks but soon a new manager I hope and we can be optimistic again.

I was waiting for vardy to hit that one over the top first time...but he took a touch and...... sorry but I think he's lost a bit of his mojo

He cost us 3 points today

Todays game in isolation, it wasn’t terrible. We should have done better considering we were playing against 10 men, however, we did enough to win the game on another day imo. The fact it’s the usual defensive lapses and the inability to put the ball in the back of the net is the most frustrating thing.

I thought we were much better today, and just fell short of a draw

Listen pal I’m saying it as I see it, loads of chances today. Done out of a goal that was harsh in my opinion. I’m not making excuses up for the manager he’s on a tightrope.

Just back.. not sure what the thread says. Only read last couple of pages. I’m sure people have said the same thing.

anyways I thought they played better today and were unlucky not to get a point at least. It’s a shame that after the sending off they didn’t make the extra man count. The lads dominated the end of the first half and was unlucky not to go 1-0 up.. Was it castagne at the end? Robbed blind of a goal though which should have counted and not sure why var didn’t look at it..

To go 2-0 down was slightly poor defensively. Fair play to ward today who made a couple of cracking saves.. I don’t want to say this and people may not agree but I’m wondering whether it’s time to make vardy an impact sub. He missed 2-3 sitters which makes you wonder would he had scored from the bench with more energy. Scoring 1-2 of those could have been a different result.. not sure what the subs and lack of was about today, kel did well when he came on and he ain’t afraid to take on  but the game was calling out for Daka. 5 subs so use them? I would rather lose by 4-5 and at least show there is care.. Another tough fixture next week but it makes you wonder how much longer can this go on for.. if it goes into September and the points at the bottom widen it could turn into a long season indeed..

On a separate note, I thought the away end was better today.. loud and speaking to Chelsea fans on the train, they also commented that we were decent..
