Rodgers really wouldn't want this as his next game. He'd have put his eggs in getting points against Villa to keep him alive, if he's bothered of course.

Likelihood of 6 straight defeats going into an international break.

Like Preston??

Spurs is a game we're currently expecting nothing from... so the perfect opportunity to give Iversen his chance

that’s a really bad way to look at ANY premier league game…

And in his defence he’ll tell the board he’s played 4 of the rich 6 in his first 7 games ….

will they listen ?

I think they will. Then all rests on the Forest game.

There is no way this game will go ahead in London.

Thousands of heads of state and their entourages in the city for the funeral will mean the largest security headache the police have ever had to deal with so no staff available to attend matches.

….the Forest match will probably be our next game and can’t say that feels very appealing.

Most of them won't arrive until Sunday or even Monday first thing, but still think the game will get postponed.

Gonna be an unpopular opinion here and not something I really want to revisit, go back to or suggest, however, in the circumstances we’re led to believe it’s a fan/lack of police resources issues, it’s a form of a solution.

Behind closed doors?

Its easy for me to say, I’m not going, obviously those going who have tickets and want to go won’t take the suggestion very well - which I totally understand.

Aside from that, I just want games to go ahead so it speeds up the process.

It’d also save fixture pile up and congestion in already condensed schedule, the game needs to go ahead.

Two reasons why I’m for postponement:

1. Under a new manager we may have more fight against the top 6 clubs. Currently we just turn up for a belly tickle and we’ve lost before a ball is kicked. All down to Brendan’s pandering of bigger clubs

2. Fixture pile up when most of their players have played World Cup games and readying for the CL knockouts will throw up some weird results

But then Rogers won't be able to blame the fans.

Yes probably as I think it was to do with strikes affecting the rail links that they have to their stadium from Brighton to Falmer.

My point was what about fans that can only get a train to travel.

Brighton need to hope the guy in charge of the rail union is not a palace fan lol

Understand both of your points.

On your first point - We ain’t getting a new manager until games resume and the situation we find ourselves in gets remarkably worse as unfortunate and unbelievable as it sounds.

Whether we are playing top 6 in Premier League or 18th in League Two, it doesn’t matter - we’re stinking the place out and have been for a very long time, so we need games on, infact by that logic you may aswell let him have a game against a top 6 club in Spurs as it’s one of the harder games we’re less likely to win anyway a “free hit” if you will (and I hate that expression but it shows where we are as a club - we were once fearless we’re now fearful)

To think if this doesn’t go ahead Forest will be his next game is a sickening thought - we ain’t beating them under him.

Your point is valid and they could also argue no away fans which reduces the policing (as seen by the Rangers v Napoli game).

I think clubs would kick off about away teams getting unfair advantages etc - that's exactly why I think if the London games are off, PL will pull its entire schedule for the weekend

This is one of the reasons why I suggested a blanket ‘ban’ idea of behind closed doors - along with behind closed doors and no fans at all using even less police resources.

Besides by Brendan’s logic no away fans in this match would give us an advantage wouldn’t it? :dunno:

I think they will arrive earlier, reading the latest on plans. Anyone attending is asked to use commercial flights so they can just arrive last minute in their own plane either. There are receptions planned for visiting Heads of State on Sunday and for them to attend the lying-in-state. I can't imagine you can just fly in Sunday am for that level of state affair.

If I was the Spurs rep in the meeting today i'd be pushing as hard as I could to get this game on and at the KP

Horrible toxic atmosphere and means you get your away game out the way when you're in form and the other side aren't.

Winner

why would your rather us rodgers forefit against our rivals and relegation rivals rather than against a team that would likely beat us anyway.

We will lose whoever we play, so it’s much better to do it at spurs
