Spurs will be like a wounded animal after last nights result and Conte will want and expect a response and look who is coming to town, only the ever obliging Leicester City.

This will be an absolute thrashing I think we will get tonked 5-1 with Kane and Son bagging 2 each and then Richarlison scoring the 5th to rub salt in the wounds.

Son hasn’t scored in 9 games 🫣🙃😂

Imagine if the new set piece coach has spent the last week nailing down our issues, and sorting it all out.

Now imagine that Faes has settled in well, and has started to form a great understanding with Evans.

Imagine us having a solid foundation of a back four with an actual right back, TImmy and a England capped left back, JJ, all sitting confidently in front of a keen to impress Iversen.

Now imagine, BR gets a siege mentality built up, and we go and shithouse a win in London, Vardy winner.

Thats the dream.

(then we let BR go, and get a new man in to work with the team, over the international window)

Or, far more likely, Brendan has been dragging his heels around for the last week whinging and moaning, continuing to unsettle players and coaches to continue his rhetoric of those around him simply not good enough.  Probably a sheepish grin watching Faes training with a bit too much enthusiasm and playing too direct. Might not make the team because he doesn't understand possession football yet.

The press conference tomorrow will tell you if its your Brendan or my Brendan.

I think we get tonked even worse with wing backs. Not that I’m against the formation, just ours spend most of the game camped around their own 18 yard box and rarely in the oppositions half!

Side, side, side back, pass to Justin and Thomas, run forward and then cut back, repeat. Putting too much pressure on the weakest and makeshift part of our team, they then get pressed and make mistakes.

Yep,  Rodgers insanity ball; same mistakes hoping for a different result.

Btw, I laugh emoji-ed your post not because I thought it laughable but because I chuckled at your irony; we'll win even though we're crap kinda thing.

We're going to get battered, what better team to play after a champions league loss than a Rodgers team which is basically a training match for the top clubs.

Same team as last time with Faes in for Ndidi and Castagne for Justin or Thomas pls.

It doesn't need to be a pure 3-5-2. It can be a 4-3-1-2 or even better a diamond when defending and have Justin and Castagne more advanced when in possession. The FBs need to be able to run their whole side in modern football doing around 11km-13km in 90min. If Justin and Castagne are not fit to do it they shouldn't play in PL.

I wouldn't mind a back 5 if the plan was to frustrate, be defensively solid etc. It wouldn't be pretty but at least there would be a plan, its worked for Rodgers a couple of seasons ago. However we play our full backs/wing backs so high up the pitch we leave our already fragile defence horrendously exposed.

I think it will be a back 3/5.

Iversen

Castagne

Amartey

Faes

Evans

Justin

Tielemans

Ndidi

Dewsbury-Hall

Maddison

Vardy

We will have one tactic to get Vardy in behind and we will barely threaten. Bring Iheanacho and Daka on at 3-0 and we'll get one back and start to threaten before Spurs get one or two more at the end.

Genuinely don't even know where to start on putting together a team that can defend as a unit and attack with confidence and intensity.

Iversen has to be given a start though and Faes too. Ndidi and Amartey have been honkersauraus at the back so far. I still think we're better off with Daka and Iheamacho together too but matching them up with a back 3 never tends to be successful.

Iversen

Castagne

Evans

Faes

Justin

Ndidi

KDH

Iheanacho

Maddison

Barnes

Daka

Good team this should be the team but won't be

Really interesting points and, you know, hereby hangs the whole problem. Rodgers WILL NOT change and he honestly thinks that 75%+ possession and high, roaming fullbacks are the key to being a top team.

And they are!

If you are Liverpool or Manchester  City they are indeed key factors. What hasn't sunk in to his obstinate brain is that we are NOT Liverpool or Manchester City (they both have brilliant players, excellent systems and top, top managers) whilst we are Leicester City - bottom of the league and with a shite, destructive manager. FGS man - open your eyes: we have to find a different way to play (or, even better, find a new manager)
