Karma is a b*tch for Uruguay. Got to love that.

The ref in the Uruguay-Ghana game was exceptionel in handling all the play acting and pressure from Uruguay. Very impressed.

Arguably the best refereeing performances so far, had to deal with a lot and handled it well

But he should probably never set a foot in Uruguay, where he will become a national villain.

But completely agree. Excellent performance from the ref.

He just got a touch on the ball, (after grappling and pulling and perhaps even contact with the leg. But he did touch the ball.

more by luck than design imho. I think Dan got lucky.

But don't you love the game when tactics go out the window? When it just becomes hoof, commitment, energy and getting stuck in.

With it always being a possibility that Uruguay would need another goal… I can’t understand the manager taking off Suarez and Nunez. Although I am glad he did :worship:

Both of those were on yellows. Double scorer de Aarascetta wasn’t though but also taken off.

Great win for South Korea against Portugal reserves.

Wonder how they'll do against a full strength Brazil

Why so bitter to South Korea??

It wasn’t luck,he and defenders play,train for such incidents…

but any type of bad by Amartey,he should be asking what his front men were doing,Ghana had some decent chances, and if they converted the penalty, they wouldn’t have to play panic & rush for 40 minutes..

Feel bad for ghana. They deserved to go through truthfully, especially given the referee help to Portugal in their first game. However they are a young squad with very little time together. Next world cup they'll be back stronger. Their attack definitely could have enjoyed the fruits of more time together. At least Uruguay didn't go through

I reckon though we had some very average first half’s,these group stages brought

some decent football, and excitement. The amount of twists & turns, has been better

than most World cups..I have enjoyed the onfield football, and again the interest &

entertainment…

I think most refs have been excellent on the “fainted foul” and not had whistle in mouth approach love it when they show they have seen the incident,so don’t come with your antics & moaning…Though there will be moments when they dont

catch the incident..VAR better than in the PL,but still iffy..

Uraguay players were quite pathetic..God S.American teams carry on playing victim, when totally out of order & descisions correct…I understand high emotion

when totally wrong,but not this…

Probably the final time we’ll see Suarez running out in the World Cup?

Yeah I know. Yellow or not, I’d have thought he’d have left at least one of them on.
