FA Cup 5th Round v Blackburn Rovers - 28/2/23, 19:30

This is just the kind of game we need. I think we will batter these tonight, go out to prove a point and then get started on a run that will pull us away from the lower regions of the league.

In living memory, these midweek 5th rounders have been shocking games where eventually we sneak a single goal to win. Very similar vibe here - we’ve greatly helped by Blackburn’s injuries and suspensions

Who else are they missing apart from Dack and Diaz?

Sorba Thomas cuptied. Ayala, Scott Wharton, Harry Pickering injured plus 1st choice keeper Kaminski been out since end of January.

Can't wait for the usual mob to be using this run to the quarters as another reason why Rodgers is the absolute king of Leicester managers. Far superior to any of the trash we've had to endure before that magical day in 2019.

Dennis Praet really needs to find some personality and authority to make an impact here. I was extremely disappointed with him vs Arsenal.

...is he not taking up the position on the wide right!!!

If anything he should be the double pivot in the midfield. That would be where he fits in, we seem to want him to replicate Perez.

The main person bringing up another Quarter Final will be Brodge.

He played in that central Madders role before Tete was taken off. My overriding memory was he was stumbling over himself and tripped up a few times. Madders has that ability to find space quickly and make quick decisions. Praet showed none of that sort of skill and quick thinking.

I mean that's the summary of his time here. He's technically a very good player, but never had that bit between his teeth to cement his position in the team. He's got that Kramaric vibe to me, will be good to great for someone else, but underperform here. Soumare is probably going to end up the same way.

Would love to have been proven wrong, but he's had plenty of time here. It's a good game for him to play in though.

I expect Ricardo and Ndidi to start this one, seems like a good game to come in for. Rodgers usually plays strong teams for the cup games, but think some players like KDH might be kept back for Southampton. I wonder if Kristiansen will start? I love his attitude and assuredness he brings to the back 4.

Guess the mass use of mobile tickets means queues at the gates tonight. First time for me

We have 5 tickets on 1 phone so I apologies in advance if you get stuck behind us.

With the exception of Wolves I'm not sure we've battered anyone for quite some time!

Definitely agree that a cup run can help us in the league, though.

Praet's a baffling player for us. He's started his career as a #10 at Anderlecht but eho would play as a winger as well, then at Sampdoria he carved out a very good spell playing CM. At Torino last season he was part of the supply to the attack on the right and seemed to do well.

At Leicester he's not really done anything that impressive except for the occasional contribution. I still don't know what his most reliable position is for us. I suppose his link up with Castagne at the start of 2020/21 and the game vs Leeds at home this season have been some of the best bits he's done.

Blackburn have been in quite good form this season and have picked up again, we should win this but don't think it will be as easy as people think although Blackburn are probably focused on playoffs / promotion this season

I honestly don't think I could bare to sit through extra time and pens, soon as the ref blows for 90 i'm off. Listen to the rest on the radio, if must.

Agreed. If we can't win in normal time I'm off too. Our home form with two exceptions has been dire this season.

Quickest way to do this is one person keep the phone and as each one of your 5 goes in the turnstiles, use each ticket one by one swiping to the next, then as you're last you go in and scan with your last ticket.

Please don't ask each person to use the phone and then pass to the next as although it sounds easy and straightforward I guarantee one of you tries to scan the same ticket twice, seen it happen a few times already

What do you have to do with that, pass back the phone each time?

Yes. We went to a screening in one of the halls for a World cup match and it was easy enough but will be the first time had to do it through the turnstyles
