  1. 1. Will we immediately bounce back to the Premier League if we are relegated?

I allowed myself to envisage a spell in the lower leagues …. It took me back to the days of league 1…. What a season that was …. Brilliant away days ….

No. I just don't see the club having the nous to put together a squad or appoint a manager to deliver.

Sadly I think that is the case in both divisions.

Far too many ifs and buts to answer this. If the talk of parachute payments being paid to that Aussie bank are true then absolutely no chance.

I do not believe we would  although we would be contenders.

….the last decade has been great but I think we are headed for a lean period now.

…very sad on so many levels.

Some good points in the original post that echo my concerns, the ruthless physicality of that league vs our brittle lot, with the extra games and facing teams of battlers and scrappers, in our current condition we’d really struggle with that.

There will be big changes whichever league we’re in but a side built around Iverson, Souttar, Kristenson and K D-H, with most others either too brittle or who are ones who would appeal to other clubs (Madders, Tielemans, Barnes, Justin, Castagne, Nacho, Faes possibly) we would look very different to how we do now anyway. You would have to try to bring in players capable of meeting the demands of that league and of a standard capable of being in a side chasing promotion but who hasn’t been snapped up by a promoted / PL side, a very small window. Certainly need a few coming in who like Souttar, Iverson snd K DH who know the league.

The reality is there's lots of good sized clubs down there already and only 2 guaranteed places to come back up. That's before factoring in the 2 clubs you come down with and the surprise packages you always get.

The state of the club at the minute I have no faith at all we've got the mentality to bounce back, it'd take a fantastic managerial appointment to get the whole club going again and dealing with the heap of overpaid shite we'd be left with.

We're as likely to do a Burnley this year as we are a Stoke or Swansea.

Lack the kind of Grit and drive that Sheff Utd and Burnley both had when relegated. 5 years for a complete rebuild.

Top bored/disinterested, mega vanity projects whilst finances in chaos; is administration in 3 years completely crazy thinking?

I was just thinking about that, too. No chance we would instantly get back to PL with BR. Sell Maddison and we're a midtable Championship team at best.

And yes we would, and most likely will, struggle physically against most Championship sides. I would normally look forward to us playing in such competitive league but with our feeble half arsed players and the manager who can't be bothered we could be stuck in Championship limbo for long years, and truth be told the perspective of going down again seems more likely than going up.

We would need to be sold to a Middle East country first. Top is broke, the wages are too high and the best payers will leave without new State ownership. It worked for Manchester City who were a second division club to shitty 1st division before being Nationalised.

We'd likely be favourites to win the league if we were relegated. The gap between the divisions is huge now. Yes we'd have a big turnover of players but I think we'd have a very good chance of returning straight away. Worse teams than us have done it at a canter recently.

Maddison, Tielemans, Barnes.  I can’t really see huge demand for anyone else.  Possibly Justin or Ricardo or Ndiddi but that is based on pre injury form.

The players that are left I think are good enough so s lot will come down to mentality.  At present we clearly don’t have that but who knows with a new manager?

Not a chance, this is a team packed with individual talent and experience (it should NEVER have been in the conversation for relegation) so it will get raided like a box of Celebrations at Christmas.  The team will look unrecognisable in the Championship.

Plus we are broke so King Power will look to recoup as much £m as they can before selling us off.

I could actually see us struggling in the Championship. With the turnover of staff that would happen in the summer, and the loss of any real quality I think it won't be a straightforward period for the club. My biggest concern is how soft we are; 50/50 challenges, headers in either box. It will be more physical than the Premier League, and we don't have enough fight.

Blackburn in the cup the other week - enough said, and that's with our "quality".
