So while Rudkin and Whelan are busy working out why we have ****ed ourselves royally for the last two years, what do we do this summer which just so happens to be the biggest rebuild of recent times ? Carry on doing the same dumb shit until the review Is complete ? **** me.

It becomes more abundantly clear over time we really did fluke it to an extraordinary degree.

This review should be conducted by someone independent. It's laughable that the two that have let the club sleep walk into this mess conduct a review. 

 

We could have been such a stable premier League club. Wasn't expecting Europe every year, but we could have been a solid top 10-12 side challenging well in all the cup competitions pushing for Europe.  But no, that ship has long sailed. The biggest mistake was to stop a model of selling and recruiting that worked. Then there was the contract situations etc.... everything that the director of football and director of operations are responsible for!

They are the final two left who have failed in their job roles, hopefully, they have brought some big mirrors to look in a figure out that they have simply failed at their job.

I think Top has too much of a trusting nature. 

 

He was clearly taken in by Rodgers and I think to some extent the same is true with these 2 bozos. 

 

In any investigation root causes need to be determined and there's clear incompetence on both of their behalfs. 

 

He also needs to look extremely hard at himself as he's completely taken in eye of the ball since we won the FA Cup 

 

He needs to tap into his fathers hunger, desire for perfection and ruthlessness in making difficult decisions quickly and decisively

Agree, whilst Vichai was a great guy he had business acumen and ruthlessness with it.  Top appears naive and has clearly left the clowns to run the circus.

Exactly how I see it.

Theres this attitude around of ‘it’s been a great 9 years anyway, so let’s just celebrate it’ as though LCFC getting relegated was inevitable. 
That deflects from the reality that just two/three seasons back, we finished 5th in the division! 
There was never any need to be having final days of the season like this one. Gross mismanagement and basic apathy have led us to this, but rather than seeing it for what it is, some fans have already started to rationalise it in their own minds by putting it down to the size of the club and the fact that we’ve yo-yo’d in the past.

This time, Leicester didn’t have to yo-yo. We should have had the savvy to become an established Premier League club over the long term. 
Get it absolutely right. This has nothing to do with being ‘little ol Leicester’. It’s got everything to do with appalling management, continuity planning and leadership. 
Its SUCH a shame.

Hope we can salvage our season and PL status at the 11th hour today but whatever the outcome we need to ask tough questions (with no-one off limits), make changes and rebuild stronger.

 

Maybe a cynic but releasing the news of the review feels just a PR smokescreen and makes me doubt anything will change. Crucial we make our feelings known after the game that things need to change.

He’s not clever or articulate enough. 
 

He sadly follows the stereotype of son taking over family business. It’s not been earned by intelligence or business but given to him.

To save Rudders and Whelan a bit of time o have done the review of the football side for them - 

 

playing style -  tippy tappy, slow ponderous control style is not working we need to play a hybrid, be more aggressive and then hit teams with fast, front foot football. Go back to 2019/20 early season football which was the best I have ever witnessed. 
 

fitness and conditioning - our injury record has been heinous in recent seasons, and I would also say the team look unfit. Get Matt Reeves back in charge of pre-season regime, be the fittest team in the league then manage workloads throughout the season to maintain fitness and reduce injury risk. It was criminal to allow Dave Rennie to be forced out of the club. 

 

recruitment - go back to the tried and trusted model of buying young hungry players with a view to developing and selling on, we became the stepping stone to the big 6 and it worked so well, we need to go back to this, rather than trying to sign ready made players at a premium. 
 

contracts - if a player will not commit to a new contract as they approach 2 years left on current deal then we sell that summer regardless of who it is, unless it’s an older experienced player who is playing on reduced yearly cycles. 
 

management - do not over commit to any manager, they are only ever 10 games away from the sack,  offer decent wage package but where possible more incentive driven and offer 12 or 24 month rolling contract, this offers reasonable protection to the club and also gives the manager some level of security/stability, we went balls deep with Rodgers and left ourselves with very limited opportunities to get shut of him from a financial aspect. 
 

Academy - there is a limited pathway to the 1st team at present, also the current academy set up appears to nice and comfortable, this needs

to become more ruthless, we need to be setting a target of at least 1 or 2 players per season making it into 1st team contention, we should be identifying players early on in their development to send on loan to get them 1st team ready. 
 

each player in the academy should have a 2 year road map of where the club want them to be and how to get there. With things such as playing at higher age groups to challenge or being sent out on loan to develop. Players continually playing at their correct age group are not to going to push on. 
 

most of our players who are in and around 20/21 should be out on loan, make or break not fannying about playing meaningless u21 games, I want 18/19 year olds playing in this level and then going out on loan to see if they have the minerals to make it. 
 

That is the football side sorted, each and everyone of them sit under the responsibility of Rudkin,  therefore he is either directly accountable and responsible for what has been a catastrophic collapse in performance across all functions or he has sat back and shown great weakness in allowing others to dismantle these successful departments that were critical and the cornerstones to our success. 
 

Whichever way you dress it Jon, you have shown you are out of your depth and should offer your resignation or be relieved of your duties with immediate effect.

Congerton left about a year or so ago and is now sporting director at Atalanta
