well this is going to go down well

But has admitted a lot of things tbf.

Won't be the only team who have got that sort of apology..

Going by their finishing the other day would have probably missed all 3!

I think we desperately need a nasty midfielder in the ranks. One of those players you would hate to play against but are a cult hero for your team. Midfielder with a bit of bite who can up the tempo and get the team firing. Someone like McGinn would be ideal.

Debatable......

He inherited the most talented Championship squad EVER!  Any half reasonable Manager would have been expected to get this squad promoted.

He'll be judged fully/ properly next season.

Personally I don't think he'll survive up to Christmas!

But, we'll see.

The squad has gone up in your estimations quite dramatically then, given you said in the summer it didn't have the quality to play possession football and would finish in midtable

Next season should just be about finishing above the other two promoted sides and one from the survivor this season/Brentford.

Got a feeling Brentford will be poor next season.

Stay up and then look to build season on season.

Always hard to see which teams are going to struggle next season, impossible to predict. Who would have thought it would be Leeds, Southampton and us in 2023?

What about Fulham maybe?

Going to be Liverpool under Slot, their last minute poaching of Dyche just unable to preserve their PL status.

Expect to see Everton and whichever one of Forest/Burnley/Luton stay up down there

Wouldn't be surprised to see Brentford down there again, especially with them expecting to lose Toney as well

Probably wont be but Brighton have had a shocking 2024 so far - only the bottom 5 teams have been worse than them in 2024 and they scored just 1 goal in April (an own goal)

I feel like Brighton are going to struggle next season, they’ve been awful recently.. I know injuries have hurt them quite a bit..

As we are now in it.

Ipswich and any other 1 of 3 bar Leeds to go up.

Down.

Luton to swap places with the trees for me.

14th again would do me.

Fulham are 17th on the away table. Been massively propped up by home form. Think they'll be in the mix.

On paper I genuinely think we have a better first team than the likes of Brentford, Bournemouth etc is that arrogant to say, and the current bottom three.

I don't think the current bottom three are going to be a problem to us next season. Although I would like Luton to stay up and lose the trees.

Brentford / Brighton for sure (unless Brighton can magic up a top notch manager again). Wolves have had a terrible end to the season too. Think there will be plenty down the bottom giving it a good go at getting relegated.

A lot will depend on summer windows. If a number of teams towards the bottom tighten their belts its going to make it even more interesting.

I don't think Brighton will struggle too badly, especially if De Zerbi stays. Their bad run coincides with half their first team squad being out injured.

We're going to struggle on two fronts next year.

Possible points deduction and financial constraints which will lead to a weakened playing squad.

I think survival would be the biggest priority here.

The Premier League is basically 3 divisions in itself:

A) Man City, Arsenal,

B) Man U, Chelsea, Tottenham, Villa, Newcastle, Liverpool

C) The rest

The gap between finishing around 8th and the top six is wider, and 8th and the bottom teams narrow. Remember a couple of seasons ago when we finished 8th and we were terrible!

Brighton have peaked and I suspect may well falter. Clubs like Brentford will sadly struggle despite doing so well the past few seasons. Everton will struggle as they always seem to every year.

The difference with us going up is that we are not a "traditional" championship team - we have a lot of Premier League experience and so should not feel such a gulf compared to say Ipswich.

I imagine Brighton will spend the money they've kept hold of this season.

Also wouldn't be surprised to see Potter back there

Even though there's plenty of dross in the PL, with our possible points deduction, its going to be a very difficult season. On a positive we do seem to do much better when teams come at us, which i presume every PL team will do.

No Brendan means I'm already enjoying this season than the last two at this level.

Yes, I know we haven't kicked a ball yet. My point stands.

De Zerbi is a problem for them unless gets his own way. Fully expect him gone and replaced. If he stays and he doesnt get his say with transfers they find themselves in Rodgers territory.
