What a bizarre move to then send him on loan. Hardly like he needs another years experience in another league, he's 25 in a few days time. Seems like their owner doing their sister club a huge favour, like what the Pozzo's have done with Udinese over the years.

Confirmed by Fab now. What a waste, such a good price too.

thought that too, considering they have been linked with Borges too, i guess its another one of them dodgy ones, since the Bournemouth owner, hold a stake in Lorient too as you said, shame we dont scam the system more

This is just a way of playing FFP.

Surprised this isn't being looked at more closely.

It's a pity both Leicester and OH Leuven are both skint!

we dont play the system enough sadly, even Brighton do it better than us with Union Saint-Gilloise

Leeds seem to be allowing a lot of players to leave on loan.

Kristensen, Llorente, Koch, Aaronson. Rodrigo going Saudi as well. Could lose the likes of Tyler Adams and Roca as well

Not sure who they’re going to be left with, and doesn’t leave many funds to refresh their squad. Guess they’re hoping they can bounce back and then the players return. Seems a risk though….

Yeah it's a pretty risky decision to take. Have they got option to buy arrangements to?

They're going to have to buy or at least loan players in to replace those they are letting go on loan. So even if they aren't in immediate need of raising funds, it doesn't make much sense.

All the wages paid for a year with the hope of instant return and having all those players back is their obvious aim.

Unlike our owners who have always only ever spent what the club accumulate in transfer sales, they'll probably go for it a bit more.

But why would Leeds want those players back?

They weren't good enough first time around, id hate us to loan out the likes of Castagne, Praet, Ndidi, Choudhury etc and then get lumbered with them again next season

Apparently it isn't exactly happening through Leeds' choice

Apparently some of them have clauses in their contracts that following relegation they are allowed to leave on loan

sold on a permanent to a Qatari club. Apparently he had a 3m release clause which seems mad.

This could be one of the reasons why we've been willing to pay such high PL wages. if you do that then you have leverage on the relegation clauses.

Up to £15m with buyback and matching bid clauses

Another good signing for them. It’s looking promising for Saints so far.

Shea Charles vs Harry Winks will be an interesting comparison at the end of the season. I think both will end up being great signings for different reasons. IF Southampton keep Ward-Prowse then they don’t need that much experience. The more I think about it the more I think our 2 signings so far were needed just for experience / professionalism.
