Dennis Praet

I really thought there was a decent player in there, and I convinced myself that he just never got a fair run in the team (still true!) but, I have to admit I was wrong on this one. He just isn't very good and I suspect he is more than happy to leave too. Torino feels like his level and even there, he is unlikely to shine.

I like Praet always gives it his all despite how long he may have been left out the side.

Problem with him is I think the only position I can see him flourishing is the right hand side of a diamond formation, which we clearly don’t/haven’t used.

Gives it his all my ass. Take that Fulham game where he clearly didn’t give a crap. Get him gone.

He’s definitely going out on loan on deadline day isn’t he

Yep and we will end up paying his full salary - it’s called Rudkinomics.  You buy something you do not really need at an inflated price. It stays on your balance sheet for 4 or more years and eventually it turns out to be a total waste of money and relegates the Club.

You're saying he "gave his all" at Fulham away? lol

I still think there is a decent player in there but we never played him in or found his best position. When we signed him it looked like he played as a deep playmaker in the middle of the park… yet we were playing in an attacking wide role

Don't think he ever had a terrible game, but didn’t impact many either. Time to say good bye

You don't make the Belgium midfield if you're crap. I watched him closely at Man City away when he came on and it seemed to me he would get a bit frustrated with others around him. His movement was a cut above everyone else.

I don't think he's a player that improves a poor side but does well in a confident side who all know their roles.

He was clearly blowing against Fulham which is concerning but there is a case that we had the unfittest team in the PL all season.

I think Praet needs to move on (probably two years too late) but how some people think KDH is going to be the best player in the Championship and then slate Praet on here truly baffles me.

Praet gets accused of being passive on the pitch/doesn’t influence it enough but other than Youri 2 years ago, how many of our midfielders have dominated a game (not talking about 20 mins here or there) in recent seasons?

Not until I wrote all the above, did I actually realise we have so many fundamental issues….good luck Enzo 🤯

This is a really interesting sentence. I think it's why you can see players be decent at a reasonable team in the PL and then dropping down the leagues a few years later, never to return. Not suggesting that for Praet but sometimes the margins for players are so fine and it's why confidence and momentum (with a couple of standouts) can see teams fly up the leagues.

We should never ever sell or loan to any Italian or Turkish Clubs.  They just take the p**s.  Them and Spuds should be blocked callers on a all LCFC mobiles. They are the equivalent to spam calls from India claiming to be Microsoft reps.

That's in euros. Basically a free. Hilarious the way Italian teams perceive us.

No one else apart from Torino are even interested to offer any sort of fee, just accept and move him on for everyone’s best interest.

I'd have accepted that 😂😂

I assume we will push for a little more, but I can see us taking 4m

Let's say he's on 60k which is a modest guess that's 3.1m a year roughly

We all have 1/5th of his Amortised transfer fee of 18m on the books which 3.9m

So it creates a positive swinging in the books of around 12m in our accounts (transfer fee + Wage savings + reduced Amortisation).

No brainer

No point taking the first offer. If they’re willing to pay €3m, they’ll probably pay €3.5-4m. It might not seem like much but if we get an extra £500k-£1m for 3/4 fringe players it soon adds up to potentially an amount we can use on an extra signing.

Never really rated him, I like my midfielders to be specialist and either be destroyers like Ndidi or Kante or a goal and assist threat like Maddison or first two years of Tielemans.

For me Praet was always a bits and pieces player who cost a good chunk of money and was never going to be a first team player and as he was bought in his mid 20's you know you're probably buying the finished article with little room to improve.

He'll go down as another biggish money buy who was destined to fail before he even got here, our downfall is we've signed too many players of this profile where we were never going to flip for a profit or money back.
