Coady is a proven good passer of the ball, and has good technique. Maresca is going to want players who are good with their feet and help move the ball quickly, so for that reason it's a pretty obvious move to make. As for playing in a back 2 / 3, well if he's dropping down a level it might not be such a problem even if he plays in a back 2.

Agree. Still think he has at least a couple of years left as a lower-half PL defender before he even considers dropping down the leagues.

As much as I’d like him, can we prioritise a CB with some pace. Faes, Souttar and Coady aren’t particularly slow but not sure you’d call any of them nippy.

He's at Wolves, was only on loan at Everton.
