CloudFox Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 Good, probably the most solid link with him so far. Him or Clark make sense as experienced heads for our defence. I wonder if Maresca might try Justin as a RB who tucks in to play RCB to get the most out of a CB like Coady too, who tends to play best in a 3?
STUHILL Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 Would take him here. A leader and a very hard working player. Not the most talented CB around, but makes up for it with work rate. 2
Popular Post Devonfox1884 Posted 21 June 2023 Popular Post Posted 21 June 2023 Would make complete sense this, rather Coady than another season of Evans. 12
StriderHiryu Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 Coady is a proven good passer of the ball, and has good technique. Maresca is going to want players who are good with their feet and help move the ball quickly, so for that reason it's a pretty obvious move to make. As for playing in a back 2 / 3, well if he's dropping down a level it might not be such a problem even if he plays in a back 2.
Popular Post Ted Maul Posted 21 June 2023 Popular Post Posted 21 June 2023 That's about as good a signing as we could make for a CB at this level. 8
FoxyJim1987 Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 I actually said this to my mate not knowing there was any link at all, I'd have him here all day long. Perfect signing. 1
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 Would love him here but hardly a concrete link or is it just because it’s the first one?
Big Dave Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 A definite YES from me, but would he be happy in dropping down a level?
lcfc278 Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 Can't see this one myself tbh - could easily see one of the promoted teams offering him PL football. Unless we offer him silly money or a massive increase if we go up first time.

Still think he has at least a couple of years left as a lower-half PL defender before he even considers dropping down the leagues.
Stuntman_Mike Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 (edited) Tbh I'd have been fairly happy with this if we'd stayed up. If it happens* Edited 21 June 2023 by Stuntman_Mike
RowlattsFox Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 At this level it's a big yes, leadership desperately needed.

Stopharage Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 As much as I’d like him, can we prioritise a CB with some pace. Faes, Souttar and Coady aren’t particularly slow but not sure you’d call any of them nippy.
