Popular Post blueharmie Posted 18 July 2023 Popular Post Posted 18 July 2023 Good riddance. Was ok at one point but he's the walking wounded/dead now. 6

Soyuncu for one was always better when playing with Evans Maybe we should do it with Liam Moore

Even here, prior to that crunch game against Man U for a Champions League spot, where we conspired to not turn up and gave Jesse Lingard a free goal, in the build up to it Jonny popped up on a Man U YouTube podcast chatting to them about his time there and all things Man U. I've never heard of that happening with any other player. He seemed to completely lose interest here. Started out great. See if he finds regular fitness now then, eh. In the end he seemed to get injured alot for us and remarkably became fit for NI. It seems like his loyalties always were with them and NI. And to think he was our captain. 5
coolhandfox Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 100% he will be fit if he get a chance for a game at Utd. 1
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 Heard lots of stories about Evans being an absolute hypochondriac. Any little niggle and he'll instantly declare himself unfit. Better off without that kind of liability now. 2 1
Popular Post bovril Posted 18 July 2023 Popular Post Posted 18 July 2023 Thought he was an excellent player for us for a couple of years. Classy player. Very surprised at some of the negative posts I've seen on social media about his stay here. 14 1
Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 18 July 2023 Popular Post Posted 18 July 2023 I can't see why we'd still want him given we've got Coady and Doyle in but if he doesn't get a PL or similar move then I hope we tell him to bollocks if he gets in touch. Cannot underestimate how much we needed his perceived leadership and he was absolutely nowhere. Mug 11 1 1

volpeazzurro Posted 19 July 2023 Posted 19 July 2023 Bet he'll make a stunning recovery like Lazarus from the grave to play for them. Reminiscent of suddenly being fit for his national side before being injured again. Spooky eh? 1 1

Literally one of his old managers said he had to trick Evans into playing him by telling him he wouldn't be in the squad all week! 2
Popular Post weller54 Posted 19 July 2023 Popular Post Posted 19 July 2023 Another lazy **** gone! Good riddance. Club caption!!!. What a joke! Instrumental in getting us relegated because he wasnt interested in fighting for the club. Hopefully Castagne not far behind him in pissing off! 🤬 5 1

foxgas Posted 19 July 2023 Posted 19 July 2023 Perhaps he's looking for another relegation to add to his CV. 1
justfoxes Posted 19 July 2023 Posted 19 July 2023 https://www.90min.com/posts/man-utd-confirm-signing-of-jonny-evans-on-short-term-deal Great bit where it states “The club are said to have been eager to build a culture where former players have felt welcomed back.” "As part of the Academy training programme, he has also taken part in a number of first-team sessions and impressed Erik ten Hag and the coaching staff. "Jonny will then join up with the Academy group that will travel to San Diego, while the first-team squad are in New York. So Johnny gets to play with the Kids rather than the first team !😉

But when he played this season (e.g United at home where he was most responsible for keeping the score down) I thought he looked comfortably our best defender. 1 1
bovril Posted 19 July 2023 Posted 19 July 2023 We ended 21/22 season well thanks in a large part to Evans and Fofana at the back. You can question their commitment to the cause obviously but they were head and shoulders above our absolute clown show of centre back pairings this season. 1

Loyalty was to NI and BR before the club that paid him. Zero leadership from a senior player. What annoyed me more is we have Wes working as an ambassador doing guided tours and Huth making sure the loan players have their lunches packed and rent paid when they could’ve been called upon to fix the obvious issues. Castagne, Ward and Soumare next please, 1
Popular Post Matt Posted 19 July 2023 Popular Post Posted 19 July 2023 You can be positive, look at the exciting things happening but this is a stark reminder of the people still being allowed to run the club. 8
Popular Post Sol thewall Bamba Posted 19 July 2023 Popular Post Posted 19 July 2023 Apparently our offer "still stands" even after him signing somewhere else. Where is our self respect as a club? Why are we so soft that we're still offering hand outs to players that obviously don't want to be here? Boggles the mind. 5
Popular Post Tuna Posted 19 July 2023 Popular Post Posted 19 July 2023 Gotta be our worst ever captain, always injured and presided over relegation. His comments after West Ham were ludicrous. Genuinely horrified we offered him new terms. 6
